My safe queen is a beautiful FN Hi Power with a high gloss blue finish. It was my pride and joy. In a jackass attempt at home-gunsmithing I buggered up the frame. It still functions fine--for now--but the damage is evident and it makes me sick. I can't stand to take it out of the safe so in the...
If they weren't looking through the sights how do you know the sights were properly aligned on target?? My point is that you can have perfect sight alignment but if you push, pull, or otherwise mangle your trigger manipulation you will not hit what you were aiming for. Just go to any gun range...
This old butcher knife is my most sharpened knife

National Geographic gives top slot to discovery of 1,900-year-old, remarkably preserved Roman blades, likely cached by Bar Kochba rebels in one of 800 caves near Dead Sea.
The swords were found inside a fissure in a cave near Ein Gedi National Park in the Dead Sea area in June. Estimated to be...
When I was much younger I bought a Squires-Bingham .22 rifle as my first firearm purchase. Didn't put more than a couple hundred rounds through it before the mag spring was useless. If the mag spring is of poor steel/poorly tempered it doesn't matter how long you leave it compressed or how many...
I had an AMT that was a horrible jam-o-matic. And they were jams that were impossible to clear in a hurry. I wouldn't buy another unless I could shoot it first.
I got lucky a few years ago at Walmart after Christmas. They had a bunch of Christmas stuff on sale including a Buck Christmas tin that came with a 110 for $17.
Bought an Mcarbo CZ75 stainless steel guide rod to replace the factory polymer. Has a nice thin ring at one end to make the guide rod and spring captive. Nicely manufactured, looks classy when field stripped, and works fine.
I recycle used printer paper and junk mail by taping blank side out onto an existing silhouette target. Half a sheet for center mass and a 1/4 sheet for the head.
The answer I got on the other website was that Andrew Demko was designing a locking mechanism at the bottom of the handle and blade on a completely different knife design. Apparently Lynn Thompson liked the look so carried it over to other designs simply as an aesthetic style point. To each his...
I just picked up a CS 4 max Scout because it was on sale and who doesn't like big knives? There's a hole that runs through the choil area that I can't figure out the purpose of. when folding the blade it goes past the hole so there's no way a pin or anything could go through it. Any ideas?
I've related the story before but a Cliffs Notes version bears repeating. Used to carry a .32 NAA Guardian in my backpocket until I got rear-ended by a Ford F-350. Did a real number on the sacroiliac joint which still bothers me much 20 years later.
