    If shot placement is the main issue regarding "stopping power", followed by effective penetration,then any load YOU can hit with and follow up with that goes deep enough is good to go for you. Gel. tests are interesting and informative,but penetration with shootabilty is all that matters...

    Wadcutters or speer standard vel. HP with no expectation of expansion. I think that with a light weapon that is easy to carry,multi. hits in vitals is primary. Mostly I feel after 35 years of being armed,it's very unlikely I will need to use a firearm in self defence. BUT you never know
