kbob - the barrel on the derringer was originally octagon in shape but in my youth decided that round was more to my liking...here's a pic I found on the net as to what the kit looked like.

    this can't be good

Tommygun - here's a pic where I cleaned it up abit, I'm pretty sure it's not there...or it's very, very short...... ASM is noted for having some quality issues, the trigger is supposed to be hardened, but I could cut it with a file.

    this can't be good

A friend of mine gave me a ASM 1860 brass frame 44 revolver this weekend. He said he bought years ago and wasn't interested in black powder anymore. (what a shame) Anyways, he told me it wasn't working right, one of his other buddies had taken it apart to fix and it still wasn't working right...

    Colt style shoulder stock questions

madcratebuilder/fingers- Thanks for the great info- Does this mean that it was one size fit all or there are shoulder stocks with different widths to accomodate the different revolvers? When I first saw the stock I thought it was for a 60 Army, but the guy behind the counter said no...

    Colt style shoulder stock questions

junkman 01 Quote - "I never heard of such a thing. The guns that are cut for a shouilder stock have a forth screw in both sides of the frame for the stock to attach to." I amended my original post as that comment referred to the 51 Navy not the 60 Army. I know Colt made some 51 Navies...

    Colt style shoulder stock questions

Picked this up sometime last year at a local gunshop thinking it would a nice addition to my BP revolvers. Even though I had one years ago for my 1860 Colt repro, I didn't realize (or had forgotten) that there are two different versions of shoulder stocks and the one I have I believe is for the...
