I had my new 642 out to the range a week ago and tired Magtech and Black Hills blue box target wadcutters and the Black Hills POI was close to POA, the Magtech's where hitting high & to the left. Both were mild in the recoil department.

I bought a 642 a week ago and it was $399. The store I bought it from has higher prices, but they have a great staff and customer service.

I think the show was catering to the American audience by including the M14 and 1903. Not that they aren't good rifles, they are, but there are others like the MN that are more worthy according to their criteria.

I'll believe break in a barrel helps when I see some actual testing - say 20 barrels of same manufacture and caliber - do the break in procedure for 10 and compare the accuracy of the 10 broken in and the 10 that aren't

Things are much better now than when I was a kid in the 60's & 70's regarding firearms and ammunition. There is a much bigger selection of both. Auto's that can function reliably with hollowpoint ammo, stainless guns, much more accurate out-of-the-box rifles and ammo, better optics. Capitalism...
