There are lots of small guns. However, if you learn to dress around your gun... An you will learn to change your habits, then you can carry almost any gun you wish.
Get a good belt made for carrying a gun, not some cheap designer belt. Good holsters do wonders for concealing a handgun.

Square allows you to take credit cards and direct deposit to your bank account... For a fee. Used it a couple of times. Other than that, Paypal, which has an device similar to Square for credit cards, and MO for out of towners.
I've owned both Glock 19 and 36. They fit the same holsters of that tells you anything. And... I still prefer carrying a Glock 26. Since I rarely carry an extra mag, I just like having 11 rounds in the gun, even if they are 9mm.
Oh, and it's still lighter than a Redhawk 44 mag :)

1894 Skinner sights
I've also been looking at the Skinner sights. My 1894 Cowboy has the 24" octagon barrel. Do you know what height the front sight I need to order?
Anybody have experience with XS ghost ring sights?
I have a Remington Model Seven in 308 that I love to hunt with. Accurate and easy to handle since it's shorter that the 700s. If I were to buy new today, I'd probably go with Tikka. However, I have another 308, a. Browning BLR that's good too, but not a bolt action to suite your preference.
270 or 308 for me. My main rifle the past 10 years is a Remington Model Seven in 308. I like the short action. It kills 'em just as dead as my old single shot 270. Use whatcha got. If you got nothing, then get something. Go hunting.
My first handgun was a Ruger GP100. I lived in CO and wanted something I could carry camping and keep in the truck.
However, for self defense around the home with the alternative use for target shooting, my vote is for a 9mm.
