I had Dave's Guns in Urbana, il keep the extra mag from a new FN hi power I bought from CDNN. Didn't figure it out until later....won't go back.

when the thumb safety is installed it will put tension on the detent spring and will Help keep that slide stop from falling out.

1911 mag Yes, I have done that with a brand new GI type mag. I dropped it on the range house floor and watched it go everywhere. Followed by "Well now you got some spare parts..." by the range nazi.
