Firing Your Gun From Your Pocket

I saw a magazine article with photos showing a shrouded-hammer J-frame being fired through a jacket pocket. It was a kinda loose jacket so the revolver could be kinda pointed at a bad guy. As I recall, a photo showed a fireball engulfing the outside of the outside of the jacket pocket... and...

    Barami Hipgrip Users

I used to carry a S&W-60 with a Barami & Tyler T-grip. Works good. The Barami plastic is slick - I wrapped the grip with the gauze-like tennis grip-tape & it gripped just fine. I've used this tape for other stuff too. If your model has a hammer, & you've got a little gut, you might think...

    Taurus "Judge" video

The key to effectiveness for Defense purposes is the 3-inch, 5-pellet load! As MCgunner said, it has 1000-1100 fps with those ~9mm pellets. I've patterned it from a Stoeger O/U & get a tight group about 10 inches wide at 10 yards, time after time. Another guy said the pattern is so good...

    Household flashlight for bedside?

I posted before, but my latest is a WalMart special. It's a metal, silver-colored "Coast", 3-LED, single AA battery. It's thin like a mini-maglite, and has each LED sunken into a reflective pocket - it's a great design cuz it's brighter than another 8-LED, 4-AAA battery flashlight that I have...

    .22 LR and Handguns

I didn't vote because my 5-shot NAA derringer is in .22 Magnum. I would go with the early responses: whichever one delivers the highest energy. Also, since your available energy range is relatively low, I'd stay away from hollow-points & go with solids for best penetration.

Denied a gun for a misdemeanor?

I was once denied at a gunshow phone-in check. I asked why & was told that they never say why... but another worker said he could find out & phoned somebody. Turned out somebody with my same name had a current restraining order in the next county. The guy said - put in your SS# (I had...

    Crimson Trace

Since Crimson Trace started, I've seen 3 comments to that effect (including yours). If you look at the picture directly above, posted by armoredman, the spacing shown seems typical to the several grips that I have had. I will grant that a finger "can" block the beam, but I've never actually...

    Tyler grip question

I used my T-grips with a Barami Hip-Grip. The Barami had a slick plastic surface, so I wrapped the whole thing with gauze-like tennis grip-tape (just happened to be a playah at the time). See here: http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageACUNIQUE-UGT.html It worked so good, I've been...

    Crimson Trace

I've had 6 or 7. Currently down to CCW: SW-442, HD: BHP, and Range: Ruger Mk-II. When CT first started, I wrote glowing reports; now you'll find glowing reports all over the web. Have fun & be safe.

410 Vs 20 Gauge for HD

My current HD shotgun is a Stoeger Condor O/U .410. I've patterned 3" 000 5-pellet at 15 yards & got a nice 10" group, dead on target. I'm well satisfied to use this ammo.

    Household flashlight for bedside?

    Why limit yourself? We're not talking big bucks here. I've got a $30 G2 & a $3 LED shakelight knockoff & 2 $20 off-brand 3-watt multi-LED - all in easy reach. (and since I'm in FL, I've also got 5 candle lanterns & 4 battery lanterns for hurricanes)

    Crimson Trace Grips

I never trust optical alignment. I run two or three 5-shot groups, adjusting between each group, for elevation - then do the same thing for windage. That way I'm sure that a hole will appear at the spot when I pull the trigger.

Need help with my Barami Hip Grip...

Wrap them with the gauze-like tennis grip tape. It works great. After a month or so, it will start to lose it's tack - so just re-wrap it, the stuff is cheap. And it doesn't stick to shirts like rubber does. It can also be used as the surface for a home made custom-fit grip - covers gouges...

    Need advise on a 92

The '92 design is very strong and reliable - I'd focus on price and condition. There are some very pretty ones out there, so don't pay any premium for a dinged-up gun. Also, stay away from the cowboy customized ones unless you're gonna play - the customizing is expensive & only makes a...
