I might have out done you Robk13.
The one in the box looks new, unfired, and the internals still caked in cosmoline. $400 back in January. Been wanting one for nostalgia purposes as my dad had an East German one when I was a kid and I had a Bulgarian in my early 20’s. You know how you always...
Busy work week.
Emailed Ruger with pics and they want it back. My phone's camera can not get a good enough pic but the markings in the barrel are definitely going into the metal surface and not sticking out.
Went to the indoor range Sunday and unfortunately they were close for some reason...
Ruger LCP 1st gen. I inspected the barrel with a light when buying and it looked good. The factory packing oil and a little carbon left over from the test firing must of covered it up. One swab with a dry patch and it stood out like a sore thumb.
There is no visible rust. I am not an expert...
Total impulse buy.
Was going through some stuff and realized I had a bunch more 20 ga shells then I thought I had. Including a bunch of #3 buck and slugs. Can't recall when and where I got them. I have two Savage Model 24s that have probably several hundred 22lr rounds fired through them for...
Glock.
I purchased my G17 in 2011. It's been left in the pickup many times on humid nights with a window cracked, and I I've carried it many times while mowing and other yard work and sweated all over it. The outside of the slide saw very little oil over the past 10 years. Six months ago I found...
This is a lesson we all should of learned from Berry's first year as President and the Sandy Hook panic that seemed to last from 2013 to 2016. Stock up while you can. I stocked up big on 22lr after the Obama got elected panic and easily road out the Sandy Hook panic. And hopefully still be able...
The Way Of The Gun.
Love this movie. But face mask in this pic gives 2020 PTSD.
Looks like an old Mossberg 500. My dad had one just like that. Sling swivel and stock.
Do video games count? If so Metro 2033.
Because I'd love to have a belt fed shotgun. Perfect for when its after the nuclear...
You can test if you have a disconnecter spring by pushing down on it.
This is with the screwdriver pushing down on it. You should feel spring pressure. Notice the gap between the hammer and disconnecter.
It should spring back to this when you have a spring.
If the disconnecter flops around...
This?
No.
That is an ALG trigger group. They have a much shorter and lighter trigger travel then a stock AK trigger. That spring is what they included if you want to increase the trigger pull weight.
I posted that picture to show you the Hammer on your Mak doesn't look close enough to connect...
Ok. Found my Mak FCG. The disconnecter looks machined to me.
Old rusty tapco disconnecter that shows similar cast lines. I think maybe your disconnecter is a aftermarket replacement. And is messing with the other parts.
The guts on my Mak with an ALG trigger group. Your pic looks like a way...
The line going through the middle of the disconnecter looks like it's made out of cast metal. I can't find my original Mak trigger parts to compare. But I dont think the disconnecter looked like that. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
I would try replacing the entire fire control group

And before that there was this eyesore. PHP MV. I had one and wish I still had it. It's like a Walther p38 raped a Beretta m92 in Chernobyl and 9 months later that was born. Decent shooter though.
Sure didn't have the Grip Zone back then. I think I remember in about 2001 or 2002 reading an article in the Shotgun News made maybe by David Fortier (spelling on the last name.) That got my attention on the HS2000. Then all the gun rags started writing articles about this new "Glock Killer"...
All the rage(At least for me anyway.)in the early 2000's . Been dreaming of turning this into a BBQ gun. Refinishing it and getting it some fancy wood grips. Or at least the waffle grips it originally came with.
Need to give mine some TLC. I got it in 2008 and it was in great condition. Then my Dad strong armed it from me. I got it back a few years later when he died. The frame is fine, but the finish on the slide , takedown lever, and mag release was trashed. I think the people on the net saying the...
