    Where is the black powder?

I always mail order my black powder, buy it in bulk so the hazmat charge isn't so bad. I prefer the house brand 3F from Graf&Sons (Link Here)... besides being generally cheaper than the subs, it definitely shoots more consistant giving me better accuracy.

Haven't tried them, pointing the muzzle down when I cock it works just fine for me for preventing cap jams.

Is this Dragoon uhhhh, a little 'funny'?

Your Paterson is a lot more believable, at least you didn't attack it radomly with a Dremel and hammer/punch.

Been a while since I posted, figured I'd throw up a semi-recent pic... Only 25 yards this time, still seem to get two flyers out of six shots... gonna have to mic my chambers one of these days.

Does anyone still make 4 Bores?

A 4 bore would fire a round ball roughly 26.72mm or 1.05 inches in diameter weighing 1750gr.

If you were called to defend your town...

I'll play... Lee Enfield No4 Mk2 with 100 rounds on chargers in a bandolier and my 1911 with four loaded mags and an extra fifty rounds in reserve.

    .303 Brit surplus ammo

That's pretty much the state of things. Unless you luck into some good South African or Greek HXP you're pretty much stuck with POF and WW2/Korean era surplus. If you plan on shooting .303 Brit with any regularity and don't want to fork out $1+ per round then I highly encourage you to reload...

    The forgotten American Enfield

Ahah! Sounds like a perfect opportunity for handloading... could try some heavier slugs to bring the impact up or tweak the powder load to get it dead on with your current bullet selection... or you can take the easy way out and file the front sight a smidge :neener: BTW, nice lookin...

    The forgotten American Enfield

I hate to be mister obvious here, but if it shoots low with the sights all the way at the bottom then you should move the rear sight up.

    Bolt actions from WWII

    My take on a WWII major combatant bolt action rifle collection without going nuts/broke: Russia - Mosin Nagant 91/30 ~$100 Germany - K98 Mauser ~$200-300 Great Britain - Lee Enfield No4 Mk1 ~$150-250 United States - Model 1903 ~$450-800 Italy - M38 Carcano ~$100-200 Japan - Type 99...

Which military surplus rifle fits you best?

Lee Enfields, Model 1917s and M1 Garands are the best for me. The most common problem I run into with other rifles is they have insufficient drop so I either end up looking at the sights through the top of my glasses or the stock beats the hell out of my cheek bone.

Hello From Wyoming (the Cowboy State)

Thanks for the compliments, the metal finish is still a work in progress... it's difficult to get things to rust in West Texas :D The target shows the first seven shots fired from the rifle; the smaller three shot group was 50gr and the larger four shot group was with 100gr FFFg. Clyde is a...
