Bought a stripped Barnes Precision lower and built a 16" m4gery out of it.
(On right)
Then ran across some deals at a local pawnshop. Blued 4" GP100 for 275.00. Blued Super Blackhawk .44 for 300.00 and a blued MKII 4" for 175.00.
Think I'm done for a bit.

If you can get ahold of one, Remington has a factory LE/Milspec dual picatinny rail setup that clamps extended magazine to barrel. It's a nice solid unit.
The Streamlight light mount is also solid and lightweight. It's also very low profile and less likely to be in the way should you decide...
They tend to accumulate around here:
Remingtons:
Model 870 12 ga. Police 20" RS IC
Model 870 12 ga. Wingmaster PD trade in 18"
Model 870 12 ga. Express 20" RS RC (with 28" VR RC extra barrel)
Model 870 12 ga. Wingmaster Trap 30" Fixed Full
Model 870 Youth 20 ga 18.5" VR RC (recently bought...
Personally........
.243/6mm or above and avoid any rifle cartridge with "Magnum" at the end.
I have two "deer" rifles. Remington 700's in .243 Win and .30-06.
Deals are out there on used 11-87's.
My setup:
I purchased a used but very good condition 11-87 with 21" VR Remchoke barrel and 21" Rully rifled barrel off gunbroker for 399.00+20.00ship+20.00 transfer. 439.00.
Sold the rifled barrel for 150.00
So now I'm at 289.00 for the gun...
Most of my stuff I buy from Walmart if I don't reload it. I hit Gander Mtn when they have a sale (rare).
Online, I've had good luck with www.ammunitiontogo.com
What everyone else said.
When I finally sold mine last year (sold all my 9mm stuff), I had over 4K rounds through it. The only stoppage was a squib load (ammo issue, not the gun). Ran Ruger factory mags and crappy aftermarkets like nobody's business.
The deer barrels (21") do not have enough barrel length past the gas ports to cycle with light loads.
You want to dove hunt/skeet shoot with it buy a second barrel in 26 or 28" length.
BTW, another vote for the 11-87.
Mine has 21" RS Remchoke barrel (can have any choke I want...

and scroll down a bit you'll see a clamp on heatshield with "ghost ring" sights. It'll meet the letter of the rule for you, but don't tell anyone I recommended them :uhoh:.
ATI stuff is usually pretty much crap.
There are some aftermarket clamp on sights available for shotguns with vent rib barrels but for plain barrels I can't think of anything. Good luck in your search, but I'd be surprised if you find anything that doesn't require significant gunsmithing.
Hmm. Not personally aware of any setup made for NEF's. I was assuming you were asking for a pump or semiauto of some description.
What is it you want the sights to do for you that the fiber optic bead is not?
Another happy Nikon owner. I have three prostaff scopes (though one is a rimfire) and they all have given great service. Very clear optics. Solid adjustments.
Another trick (WITH NO POWDER OR BULLET IN THE BARREL) is to put a dry patch on your ramrod/jag and put it all the way to the breechplug. Cap the gun and fire. The ramrod should shoot about halfway out the barrel and the patch should be burned significantly from the primer/cap. I do this several...
