I'm looking at a Glock 17, and trying to figure out approximately when it was manufactured. It does not have an accessory rail and has texturing on the front of the trigger guard. This has me thinking it's a Gen 2. I looked at...
About 10 years ago, I did the whole AK-ification thing on a Saiga 7.62x39. I haven’t been paying too much attention since, but remember that Kobra sights were supposedly the ones that made the most honor to glorious Russian motherland. Is that the case? I really just want something that isn’t...
Longest distance I can shoot at a local range is 100 yards. This will be mainly for trying to shoot MoA groups at that distance or less, since the range is broken up at 25 yard increments.
I'm thinking of trading up my Savage MKII/Bushnell scope combo (the kind you get at Cabela's) for a CZ 455 American combo (the one with the .17 HMR and .22 LR barrels) and am wondering about scopes.
What would be a good scope for covering both calibers? I'm not familiar enough with the...
About six years ago (... sheesh... six years?) I did the whole AK thing with my Saiga. I didn't have much cash to spend on it at the time, so I had to kind of hack it when it came to machining out a spot for the the cleaning rod in the lower handguard. I used one of the Dinzag bolt-on handguard...
I was under the impression that the rear sight should be adjusted the opposite direction for elevation that you wanted the projectile to go. I assume this is incorrect based on your responses?
I have a Ruger SR9c that I got not too long ago. I took it out after buying it, and it was pretty decent for the first time shooting it. I adjusted the sights using a laser boresighter, thinking I could do better. Wrong-o. Now it's as much as foot off at 15 yards, which is a problem for a pistol...
I'm looking for a way to save on 9mm ammunition, and want to know what reloading could do for me in that area. I've got a Ruger SR9c, so anything I'd reload would have to function in that weapon. From what I've seen, 9mm rounds are currently $.25-$.30 a round. Could I expect to save by...
Went back to the store and gave the SR9c a try with the mag extension. I like it. I still have yet to fire one, though.
The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of maybe having something in the car. The compact would be better for that.
Is it possible newer ones have a better trigger? I can go try to find out when the pistol was made.
Does the SR-9 or SR-9c handle recoil better in your experience?
I'm looking at possibly purchasing a used SR-9 I saw at a gun store today. Felt good in the hand, though I haven't had a chance to shoot one yet. What are your experiences with this model of pistol? How are reliability and accuracy? I think I'd have one mainly for going to the range every once...
It's been a few years since I frequented the forums here, and I'm trying to get a refresher on what all is up with AR-15s. I remember that a few components makers were more high-end than the others, but that was years ago... when the AR had just established itself as the gun everyone was buying...
Eh, I like the Gun-Kote idea. One of these days I'll save up the cash to get the rifle media blasted and get the whole thing done at once.
By the way, what's the running cost on something like that?
