appears I am wrong and that this is only a 4 round cap mag....
erm would it be able to be converted to 5 rounds? the tabs are 1/8" tall and i can get a round 1/2 way pressed in

I think its called a follower, the piece of cast/milled alumn that pushes up the rounds in the built-in mag.
Anyways, I am unable to load 5 rounds into rifle and was told that there are two tabs underneath the follower that I can trim down/off to allow me fully load the magazine. Is this...
Most people seem to use Fed primers, which I see no reason not to except that I have nearly 900 CCI BR2 primers that I would like to use up before buying a new primer.
thanks for the reply,

I am going to assume that the brass was not fired in that rifle, since its a new rifle with once fired brass.
How did you prep your brass? Did you bump the shoulders back any? Check OAL? Did you use a Body sizer or even a Full Length Sizer?
Take a gauge and measure, I bet you reloads are...
I am going to try out some RL-15 powder after discovering that my load recipe seem to varied with Varget powder between different lot #'s (tried atleast three) by as much as 1.8 gr.
I was wondering if I could use my BR2 primers without ill effects, seems most people don't use BR2 primers with...
I was wondering what some people are using for powder for .308 using 175gr SMK bullets
I am currently using Varget powder but was wondering if there might be a better option out there...
I know everyone has their opinion of whats 'better' but want to hear what works for you.

Steve I do have the bushing installed, and what you said does make sense now... now on the decapping stem there are two different 'tips' that came with it.. a silver and a black one... both screw on over where the pin goes ... black one came installed by default... whats the difference...
got that part done, what about setting up the decapping pin part? noticed that i can extend the 'arm' inside the body die (has a locking nut) and another screw/lock nut ontop of the die
drake
I have a redding type-s body die and kinda baffled on how to install it.. Can someone give me a quick run down on how to do this? I already cleaned the inside of the die as per the piece of paper in the box it came in, but it doesn't really explain how to physically install it nor does the...

Take used dryer sheets and cut them up in about 2" x 2" squares or so, as most people would prolly suggest . . . I typically just been cutting them up in 1/6th and toss them in and remove after a load of brass tumbling.. then put a new set in for the next load
drake
this particular line doesn't look like anything that being stripped out of the strips would cause... atleast from what I have seen while I operated some MG.
I'll try to get a pic, prolly not till monday or so.
drake
eventually your media will get dirty! and those drier sheets won't collect everything! :) I am just forming a theory as I have no way to test it out...
there a neglected shooter without his rifle.... waiting for it to come in so i can send it out for some smith work and wait again till it comes back to mount a scope :P
But I am cleaning brass!
drake
heh perhaps it would be, perhaps not.... 5 gallon bucket worth (perhaps 2.5 gallon worth with cleaning solution in the rest) aggitating ever so often... then spread on cookie sheets and bake/warm till dried ... making sure you don't use flammables, in that case lay thin and let it sun dry or...
