    The Midway "handling" charge

I object to the whiners and complainers about our suppliers. I support any and all positive supporters of the Second Amendment, manufacturers, importers, distributors, big gun stores, little gun stores, mail order of supplies, components, accessories, gun shows, government supporters of 2nd...

    The Midway "handling" charge

I just ordered a Williams peep sight from Midway on sale for $10 off the regular price and the shipping and handling was $3.03. I donated $1+ to the NRA in the process. What's not to like? Darryl

    Williams FP-94 on Winchester 94 30-30

I am interested in getting a Williams FP-94 for my Winchester 94 30-30, old model, circa 1972. Question, do I have to remove my rear buckhorn sight if I mount the Williams peep on the receiver? Also any advice of aperture sizes, gun will be used for plinking and short range (< 100 yds) hunting...

    I just got Lyman's 49th reloading manual . . .

I would like the same answers to mmorris' questions about rcbs.load. I don't mind paying the money if it is worth it in any sense. I have about 20+ manuals, dating back to the famous Speer #8. Don't know if I need more.

Looking for 44 mag plinker load for 4inch ruger

1+ for the wcwhitey note, except use 7.5 gr Unique in 44 special brass, and 8.5 gr in 44 Mag brass. Same loads will also work with Universal Clays. Check and see which one your gun likes best, 44 Mag guns only.

    One powder for 9mm & 40 S&W?

My old favorite is SR-4756, 6.0 gr under 115 gr JHPs for 9mm, from Midway LoadMap, and 7.5 gr under 165 gr JHPs for 40 S&W. New favorite is Power Pistol, 6.5 gr under 115 JHPs, and 7.5 gr under 165 gr JHPs for 40 S&W. Less than max loads, Speer #14 main reference, no pressure signs, Win or R-P...

Pressure signs even with factory loads?

Scratches on brass MNShooter, I think I can identify the scratches on the shoulder of your fired brass. If it is on all the rounds, that could be caused by a gouge or chatter marks in the chamber. I have similiar marks in my Remington 7400 30-06. Sent the rifle back under warranty but they...

    Concealed carry while wearing scrubs.

I finally found my simple, cheap answer to this problem, mine being wearing light nylon gym pants with drawstring (no belt) and workout tee-shirts. (Similiar to any casual clothing like scrubs without a real belt.) I use a Uncle Mike's Sidekick Holster Belt, 2" wide, of stiff nylon, and any IWB...

what is your favorite range brass?

Most everthing except R-P 38 Special and 357 Magnum. Some of the most recent manufacture has walls so thin that they don't hold regular size bullets tight enough. Don't like R-P 38 Special Nickel as the mouth seems to split fairly quickly. Old brass seems better than new manufacture, much of my...

do you come home with more brass than you took?

Recyled 28 lbs. of yellow brass at $1.90 per lb, $53.20 for a little more than a half of a 5-gallon bucket. I'm going to start picking up spend 22's for that money. Darryl in Arkansas

    guns in church

Arkansas church carry As the previous posted declared, carry in church is illegal, even with a CHL. We are considering some of us taking training to be licensed armed security guards, costs about $150 per person, and then being hired by the church as such. I really can't see doing something...

30-30 Flat Point, How Flat is ?

Clarification The bullets are in a blue Midway Repackaged Reloading Components box labeled "Bullets 30 Cal (308 dia) 150 Gr FN Hot-Cor Box of 100". They are jacketed bullets with cannelure and about .050" length of exposed lead. I assume they are Speer by the Hot-Cor label, can't be sure. Will...

30-30 Flat Point, How Flat is ?

I have some .308" 150 gr flat point bullets from Midway in special buy, and I'm not sure if they are flat enough. They are flat, not pointed or rounded, but as best as I could, I measured the smallest diameter of the exposed lead flat point and it's about .170", of course much smaller than the...

Need advice on buying .44 mag revolver!

My Choice I had two Ruger SBH's, 7.5" barrel, square trigger guard. I had soft Pachmayer grips, and used gloves when shooting, still too much flip or roll, and painful recoil. I had bought one, sold it, and then bought another. Eventually sold the second one. Still had 44 mag fever and finally...

I KB'd my Colt Delta Elite! (This is gonna be LONG)

Have you noticed that many of these type problems center around fast burning powder? I don't like fast burning powder in semi-auto handguns, but especially in high power large calibers and/or with large case capacity. I think it's false economy to use the faster powders to get more loads per...

Someone told me to forget about guns and situational awareness because...

The underlying argument against fatalism, what will be, will be, ignores the possibility of any response on our part, when there may be a response. The truth about life is that there is risk in almost everything we do, from having children, eating food, crossing the street, and investing money...

Am I getting old, or just lazy?

I am interested in shooting and reloading, computers, ham radio, exercise and weightlifting, church work, reading and study, and my family including grandchildren and parents. Can't be gung-ho about all of that at the same time, LOL. Forgot about old time radio too, currently listening to 1953...

Favorite powder for 165 grain .40 loads?

My old favorite was SR-4756, settling on about 7.5 gr with Remington 165 gr Golden Sabers. Have gone as low as 7.0 and as high as 8.0 grs, gun is a Ruger KP944DAO stainless DAO. Info is from Sierra Vol V. I don't like fast powder like 231 in semi-auto pistols, part of a gr can make a large...

Some thoughts on loads for KT P11

I have had my P11 for about 5 years, shoot mostly 115 gr JHP, either Winchester or R-P. Old favorite load is 6.0 gr of SR-4756, either CCI 500 or W-W primers, from Midway LoadMAP. Also have loaded 6.0 gr of Unique. New favorite load is 8.2 gr Blue Dot and 115 gr JHPs. Also like 6.7 gr Power...

    H-414

My favorite 30-06 load, 56.0 grs H-414 with Hornady or Remington Core-Lokt 165 gr and CCI 250 Mag primers. Has shot better than anything else I have tried in two rifles, a Ruger M77 old model and a newer Remington 7400. I think it's standard Speer 13 or 14 max load. Darryl
