    should i have bought it?

My experience is that AA2 meters better and burns cleaner than Bullseye. My guess is you'll prefer it, so you did the right thing. Just MO, of course.

Giving up on LnL's primer system

Grasping at straws, if the primer feed tube is upside down, primers will jam in there every time. I'm sure the OP knows this, and has checked, but hey!

Any cure for LnL PTX from sticking to case (9mm)?

Are you sure it's the PTX sticking? If you flare too much, the case will hit hard going into the seater die, and feel just like sticking. I quit with PTX and now use separate expander dies. Instead of belling the case mouth, they simply spread it. You get much more positive seating and...

Giving up on LnL's primer system

My LnL seats primers below flush. Always has. If somebody's doesn't, they need a new ram. One advantage of the LnL system is that you can feel the primer seat. Any time something feels wrong, I stop and take a look. Usually, that's when seating is too easy, not too hard. High primers are...

Which Hornady .223/5.56 NATO reloading dies

Amen on the RCBS small base dies, which are on sale http://www.midwayusa.com/product/621875/rcbs-ar-series-small-base-2-die-set-with-taper-crimp-223-remington right now. Black rifles can be very finicky about reloads, but ammo from the RCBS dies should feed in about anything. I often question...

    Reloading .380 acp Question

I've got three .380s, and I shoot them a lot. Brass is so cheap, like here http://www.diamondkbrass.com/.380-AUTO-2500.html , that scrounging isn't even worth it. Bought a whole lot of Hornady 100gr FMJ's from Widener's when they were on sale for 7 cents per, so I load them for maybe $8.50 a...

Giving up on LnL's primer system

In about 100K rounds, I've never had more than an occasional jam due to junk in the ram which you can feel immediately and stop for a fix, and never had the wire come out of the clip. That should only happen if the ram is stuck in the hole in the slide, which should be an easy fix, or the slide...

2nd question setting up new LNL AP press

Taper crimp dies need a little lube every now and then. Without it, they stick and jerk, which can spill powder. Work the press with a smooth motion, lube taper crimp dies, and you really shouldn't spill much.

    Resizer Die Choice

I've used a lot of dies, and believe that one is about as good as another. Redding dies are, however, real pretty. The finish is head and shoulders above the others. They look so nice, it's almost worth paying the price. They don't really work any better, though.

    Can't decide on progressive press

I have two RCBS Lockout dies for my LnL AP. Used to use one for larger cases, one for smaller. I finally quit using them. In +100K rounds I have never seen the LnL powder measure off even 1/10, using ball powders and, now, BE-86 which measures like a dream.. I mark the rotor drop adjusting...

    Why 45 ACP Caliber?

Shame is, Dillon hasn't modernized them since. Hate & discontent sown, I thought I'd add that 45acp is a fantastic revolver caliber, my favorite in fact. You can load it from popgun target levels to 250gr at +1000fps, and moonclips are a very efficient system. Or, there's always 45AR.

Thrust Bearing and LnL (and general) lesson learned

I get more spillage than I like when loading short 45acp's. Longer brass, no mess. Analyzing the situation, I've decided my problem isn't with the press, but with my bench. I'm getting too much vibration, which is shaking the powder over the rim. I plan to rebuild with a thicker top, which...

    LNL "real world" hourly production?

The primer slide should be lubricated with powdered graphite, same as the powder measure. When that's done, it should run smoothly. When properly lubricated I know of two things that'll jam the slide: putting small primers in the large primer feed tube, and spilling a bunch of power into the...

    LNL "real world" hourly production?

When I first got my LnL I had a operator-induced stoppage just about every hundred rounds. Seemed like I was always messing something up. Now that I have a lot of experience on the machine, the dies I want and the systems I need (plus EZject), I haven't had a glitch in a long time. Things...

    Interchangeable parts?

My setup for most pistol calibers on my Hornady press is Dillon sizer, Hornady PTX, RCBS lock-out, Lee seater and RCBS crimp. It's all good.

Which would you choose? H110 or W296

Actually, I was going to recommend AA9, but 2400 will do the job.

    Self-Defense bullets/powder

That's especially important if you're attacked by ballistic gel. That stuff really has an attitude! People, on the other hand, come in a variety of sizes and shapes, wear lots of different types and weights of clothing, carry stuff in their pockets, and have body parts of radically different...

    Self-Defense bullets/powder

I use lead swc's for most of my defense loads, because I believe that two holes are better than one. The exception is in my 357's for pocket carry, where I use Speer jsp's with a big meplat. No hope for expansion, again, but great bullets if you agree with the two-for-one concept.

Looking for 45acp +p load info

Accurate Arms lists a couple of loads. In my 625's my standard carry load is 10.7 AA7 which gives over 1000fps with a 200lswc, but is well below max. Max will get you 1100fps. With performance like that, who needs +P...

Questions loading 45ACP and 200 gr LSWC

Individual styles play a big role in how we like our reloading equipment set up. I load a whole bunch of 200lswc in 45acp. Pre-ezject, using the FCD, I had to put pressure on each round with my left thumb to get reliable feeding into the die. Still damaged a bunch of cases. Now the process...
