    Repeal the second amendment

One of the things I like to do when reading arguments from antis is to replace the word 'gun' and related words with the word 'freedom' or 'liberty' and see how it sounds. Try it sometime. I think I read someones sig line that said 'Freedom is not guaranteed safe - brilliant! PB

Worried about 2A? 1A just went bye bye..

One observation that I am making, that also applies to 2A/RKBA (maybe help keep this discussion relevant to a guns forum) is this: All of these 'rights' we have enjoyed the last 200 some years didn't just spring up out of the ground spontaneously. If you look at the history of the world, the...

Worried about 2A? 1A just went bye bye..

It was the 'BJ' comment that did it. You could clearly see the guy make the universal 'cut' sign right after that and the cops went into action well before the skull and bones business. If you 'disrupt' a public event and the person(s) responsible for the event wants you gone and you refuse to...

Favorite line from a movie... again

a couple of favorites: Police Academy: Tackleberry: "Nice Piece!" Unforgiven: Sherriff: "Mister, you just shot an unarmed man" William Munny: "He shoulda armed himself if he's going to decorate his establishment with my friend!"

    Coolest TV/Movie Gun

Al Pacino's 'little friend' in Scarface was pretty cool.

    Buds Gun Shop

Most places call it a 3% cash discount, I wasn't aware there was a law to that effect. If I remember correctly I paid them $40 for shipment last time I dealt with them and felt like I still got a great deal. So if they can sell a few more guns by advertising free shipping and customers see all...

Please Judge My 7 Yard Shooting…(Several Pics)

+1 wooderson BTW nice shooting If your trigger has much travel after the release, your groups may tend to the opposite side of where your trigger finger is pulling. i.e. your shots are going slightly left, your trigger finger may be tugging the gun right and when it releases it snaps left as...

    Looking for holocause quote:

A very thoughtful post and I agree 100%. The difference between 11 and 93 was information. With of the communication and information that is available today vs. 1930s/40s the would-be tyrant's job would be much more difficult, but I think the playbook is still the same.

    Joe Biden is terrible!

So do the CNN handlers fielding the questions. Biden was given this question as a human shield for Hillary so she wouldn't have to touch on the topic and potentiually take a hit later in the general election but she could be seen smiling and nodding in approval for the primary voters.

    Looking for holocause quote:

Very moving - all who love freedom read and understand. To me this passage contains the most important lesson to be learned from this quotation: the same lesson that was learned by the heroes of flight 93.

    Finally broke a P7 :(

This got me to thinking what if you made a new lever to go in there out of some hi strength 17-4 and beefed up the areas around those angles. I think it would help the trigger feel a lot. I think a lot of the 'sponginess' in the trigger comes from these little levers flexing in that area as...

    Finally broke a P7 :(

Opinions probably vary on this but one thing they have going for them is the fixed barrel/straight feed so that there is little or no feed ramp where the brass would be unsupported in a regular autoloader. They have a pretty substantial feel to them, I think a lot is due to the low bore axis...

    Finally broke a P7 :(

In many stamped parts, the bends are actually stronger due to work hardening and you see failures adjacent, depending on type of metal of course.

    Finally broke a P7 :(

That is interesting. I had been wondering what the weak point of the cocking mechanism was since I tend to dry fire a LOT more than I shoot. Being that's the only way to cock it, it gets worked a lot.

Shotguns: safe to keep one in the chamber?

FWIW I know 2 different people injured by ND with shotguns while hunting: one lived to tell about it; one not so much. I wasn't there but afaik both were rule 1 and 3 violations.

Man arrested for (legally) open carrying AK47, scaring people.

An interesting contrast to this story is the story of the Imams in the airport that passengers said were acting suspiciously. Another completely legal constitutionally protected activity, they were simply exercising their rights to free expression of religious faith. In this case, the people...

California: Land of the Trapped Soul

One thing that is nice about CA is that all the information is pretty well organized and readily available on the web, even though some of it is confusing by its very nature. This is a pretty good summary of California laws: http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/forms/pdf/Cfl2007.pdf

    Ugly Glock alternatives?

Not 9mm but the five-seven is starting to grow on me a bit. I saw one in the shop last week. Not as cool with 10 rd California mag but a nice looking gun nonetheless.

    Home Defense - not hypothetical

That's a very good point and something all of us should consider when posting. If this incident had happened in California, things would be a whole lot different I'm sure. The 'invadee' would almost certainly be brought up on charges and be sued in civil court as well. As it is, even with the...
