I carry a Tailgunner holster from Highnoon everyday and have 2 more of their holster and they are all comfortable and well made.

I've tried 230gr Golddots, HST+P, and Ranger T , I think the HST will feed in anything FMJ can, but I love the way the Ranger Ts open up. Since HST is impossible to find Ranger T or Golddots would be your best bet.
What kind of money are we talking about here, if your willing to pay for it a S&W M41 is about as accurate as it gets. If you looking for something less expensive a ruger with a bull barrel would be a good choice.
My two go to guns would be a Bobtail S&W 1911Sc commander and my GP75 they are both absolutely reliable and I shoot them pretty good.

I only been in a Bass Pro once and it was mostly just to look at all the crap they had, they have a better selection of stuff than a lot of other stores. I think the only thing I bought was some fishing gear that Wal-mart and Dick's doesn't carry.
Who taught you firearm safety, whoever it was they failed miserably, if you treat the gun as if it is loaded then there is no reason to see if it is loaded until you are able to pull the bolt back and check the old fashioned(correct) way.
