I quit 10 months ago with the help of Zyban and Nicorette gum and Commit lozenges.
I started shooting again when I quit, and it really helped me blow off steam. I committed to myself that if I didn't smoke for 6 months I'd get to buy a gun. I got an XD at six months.
Keep going, it...
My $0.02
What part of inalienable rights do you not understand? If the government grants rights to the people - then we are doomed. When all governments give up arms then we can talk about civillian disarmament.
I think perhaps you are a victim of propoganda. Think about this: I have...
I got the $400 credit. I'm gonna do it. Will I lose my right to gripe at the NRA if I commit for life? If so - I'm married, so I'm used to it.
I couldn't decide between the XD .40 and XD .45 in the service model. I rented both and spent many weeks thinking it over. I decided on the .45 ACP, both felt good to me, but 13 rounds in .45 was what finally sold me. I think whatever you decide will be a good decision. Take your time.
I used a salvaged electrical cabinet - 30"x30"x72". Not fireproof, but it has integral recessed locks front and rear, uni-strut frame inside, inside mouted hinges. Some plywood and pegboard and I was in business.

Stot my first Kimber 1911 about 4 weeks ago, the tightest group I ever shot at 25 yds., ever! I love that feeling of finding something I just gotta have.
Congrats, that Springfield is sweet..
I wish I knew. The manual tells us not to mess with it.
The reason I'm so interested is that fresh out of the box my Mini-14 had the two sides unsymetrical. On the stern side some threads are visible while the port side shows none. I've had no problems, but a part of me wonders if this is...
I'm in the same position you're in. I plan to buy a polymer framed service pistol soon and I still haven't made up my mind. All the guns you listed are good. I've shot them all in .40 S&W.
My only advice is to find a place where you can rent each of these, and maybe try one or two that you...
My P89 does the same!
I've had my P89 new since 1994. It used to make decent groups with no problem and wasn't picky with ammo. I packed it away for several years, got it out, cleaned it, and took 'er to the range. It shot down and to the right. I couldn't come close to the bullseye at 7...
Greetings from the People's Republic of Illinois. I will visit this site until Governor Blagoeiovich  shuts me down. I dig the 2nd amendment and just about anything Ruger or Springfield. I'm in the market for a XD or 1911 soon, and welcome any suggestions or advice to make my purchase...
