    Documentary

Up here in Canada, anyone that wants to can go to a registered range and shoot, many places will have range owned handguns and rifles that they will rent to guests. Everytime I go, there has been a range safety officer standing over my shoulder, so it is safe enough. I can't see anyone flying...

Hypothetical: Making a Room Bullet Proof

Up here in Northern Alberta people are starting to go with foam block/concrete construction. Basically, the foam comes in blocks and is used as the forms for the concrete. You end up with a 6-8" thick concrete wall with foam on each side. I don't know anything about armor, but I would think...

    S&W Model 10

I've been looking for a model 10 for a little while now. They are not all that easy to come by now in Canada. The people that have them are not selling and anything under 4" barrel length is now prohibited. :(

    Grizzly Defense Gun

I think anyone killing ANY species of North American bear with a hunting knife has earned a lifetime of bragging rights and a night at the bar on his friends! ...on the more serious side, when I take the kids fishing out in the bush, I like to pack my 12 gauge with the short barrel and the...

    HELP me choose caliber!

You have got a ton of choices for deer. Before you buy, I would suggest you check the availability of ammo in your area. If you pick something exotic, you might find yourself out of luck... especially if you are travelling.

    ENFIELD 2A, .308 NATO / 7.62X51 CARBINE?(wi)

I bought an Austrailian Improved Enfield (AIA M10 No.4 mk.IV 7.62x51mm SMLE rifle) in .308 a few months back. I could not be happier with it! The stock is teak rather than walnut, but it is very accurate and I can use inexpensive Military Surplus ammo. www.marstar.ca if you are curious.

    south african .308....corrosive?

I have been using it for some time now. The local gun dealer assures me that it is not corrosive. It's about half the price of civilian .308, I am loving it!

Do you think a 15 year old can handle a .308?

My son just turned 12 and I have him shooting both my Austrailian Improved Enfield (.308) and my M1-Garand... He seems to prefer the Garand though. It all depends on the kids size and maturity level I suppose. My son is 5'11" and 185 lbs already... takes after the old man. As far as...

    Looking for a good .22

I have a Ruger 10/22 and it's a good little rifle. I find it is pretty fussy with ammunition though.

    Getting kids into shooting

Awesome... Full auto is not available up here. But I have a seven year old son and 10 year old daughter that enjoy blasting targets with a Ruger 10/22 with a 25 shot banana clip. My 12 year old is more into trap shooting and center fire rifles. Unfortunately, he has fallen in love with my...

Hello from 1000 km north of the Montana Border! Have done a little reading on the site and the discussions look interesting. I am up in Fort McMurray, Alberta, so nothing but forest for 200 km in any direction. Good country for hunting. Going to the shooting range is a family affair...
