"I'll never reload cuz I've seen to many guns blow up"

The stupidity of some people amazes me. I usually load miniumu charges, or slightly above, because neither the deer/elk or target will notice the 100 fps difference.

    minimum elk cartridge

Hey TAB, I think he's talking about 1500 ft lbs energy on target, at 200 yards, this is 243 winchester, minimum. 243 is actually legal in Colorado, for elk.

They want your ammo - Voters should have paid attention.

Fortunately this crap has yet to be proposed in Colorado, and with 100,000 NRA members in this state, it'd be dead on arrival.:)

    50 beowulf

    Bargain Reloading?

+1 on Wideners, I ordered 10,000 wolf small pistol primers from them last year, even with shipping and hazmat, came out to $210 delivered. I can't match that price locally. Buying direct from Berry's is now an option, they have dropped thier lead surcharge, prices include shipping, they are...

New Ruger MKIII 5.5 Bull Barrel

My Ruger MKII 22/45 is very reliable with the Federal bulk packs from Wal-Mart, $13.97 for 550 rounds.:D

    9mm Compressed Load

You want a full case of powder, try 9.8 gr Blue Dot behind a 165 gr Ranier, in 40 S&W. This is a listed max load, but the case of almost filled to the top.

They want your ammo - Voters should have paid attention.

This garbage is totally unenforceable, how are they going to know you have "uncoded ammo". Are they going to raid your home? This requires a search warrant, you know that pesky 4th Amendment.:D Are they willing to go the time and expense to obtain thousands of warrants, just so they can check...

    Unique data

Its an excellent choice, extremely versatile powder. Unique fills the case, its bulky, so its pretty much impossibel to double charge it. My loads are accurate and consistent with Unique. One caveat though, even the "new" Unique is dirty, after about 150 rds, my XD-40 is fouled up pretty good.

    .22lr ammo for 100y shooting

22 would have about 40 ft lbs energy at 200 yards, lol.

Do you have a complete set?

I've got a complete set, save the high powered bolt gun, but that will change in the near future.:D 1. .22 rifle = Nylon 66 2. 12 ga shotgun, = Mossberg 500 3. semi-auto center fire rifle, = Yugo SKS 4. high power bolt action or lever action, = Not Yet 5. long range (Scoped rifle), = This...

"I'll never reload cuz I've seen to many guns blow up"

I know my 40 S&W cases are chock full of Unique at 9 grains, the normal load for 135 gr bullets is 8.5, 9 grains would be stiff, but probably wouldn't hurt anything. As a general rule of thumb, faster powders fill the case much less than slower powder, takes 9 grains of Blue Dot to get the same...

Bullet Prices are out of sight and unreasonable!

Berry's dropped their lead surcharge, 1000 165 grain 40 S&W bullets are now $99 bucks delivered, that's reasonable to me. Even at this price, the total cost of my reloads is still right at 12 cents/round.

"I'll never reload cuz I've seen to many guns blow up"

This is why I always VISUALLY check the powder level in every case, 16 grains of HS-6 would be very noticeable, I would stop right there and say "that doesn't look right", double check scale.:p:D

    powder storage

I keep it in the original containers, cool, dry basement.:D Keep it away from heat, chemicals, humidity, and direct sunlight, the stuff will last decades.

    Extreme Shock .380

I'm waiting for Hornady to bring out the critical defense in 40 S&W, they bring it out in 9mm and 38 spl, but no 40 S&W? Whats up with that?
