Help with Smith .45 TSW assembly

I've been given the task of reassembling a totally and completely stripped down S&W 4583. It's the first time I've ever had to deal with a totally disassembled firearm and quite frankly, I'm totally lost. I'm pretty sure I have the slide all set, but other than that, I'm clueless. Thanks in...

    Hearing protection in the military?

My stepfather was in for 20 years and he said he always (while on duty anyway) had percussion activated plugs that let him hear (albeit, slightly muffled) but once noise hit them, the sound waves forced something closed inside that prevented severe hearing damage. He did two overseas tours and...

How to go about restoring an old revolver.

rondog, It's not my dad's first gun, my first handgun, I can see where you'd get confused by my original statement. Between my father and grandather, there are lots of rifles and handguns in lots of calibers (no 9mm, which is disappointing). TI want something I can shoot, so I'll have it...

    Guns with "character"

Any idea of what happened to that pitted 1911? I remember that thread jrou, it looked like something straight out of a movie. It's a shame he never followed through with documenting it's restoration if he even did restore it.

I want my daughters to be like this girl.

I wish I was more like that too... I certainly wish I could shoot at a national level, bud sadly, I'm a rather poor shot, our club doesn't the best equipment, but I'm not worthy of all that fancy stuff. I'm only on my second year of shooting competitively though, so ther's still time. P.S...

    Bad guys with a bullpup

It's a real rifle I'm an airsoft aficionado and never have I ever seen or heard of an M17s being in production or ever being released here in the U.S. or overseas in Japan or China. The only bullpups in airsoft are the Steyr AUG, the FAMAS and I think there's an L85, but they are rare. There...

which one is more practical for me?

I don't know much about XD's but if they're like Glock then they should have a full size, compact size, and then subcompact size model. Glock has the 17, 19 and 26 (i think the 26 is the sub-9). So if possible, get the 19 equivalent of the XD. If I'm wrong in assuming that there's a compact line...

How to go about restoring an old revolver.

I live in Mass, not too far away from a gunstore/smith place. Primarily they're a store though, so I'm not sure if they'd be able to help me. If this thing could be converted to .45, I'd be extremely happy, I like this revolver a lot, I really do, but I will be rid of it becuase I can't afford...

How to go about restoring an old revolver.

Oh a Webley is it. Didn't see that coming, is .455 pricey? Is there any sort of value on this or is it fairly common?

How to go about restoring an old revolver.

Hey everyone, I'm a first time poster and a long time lurker. I've been shooting for about 3 years now and am starting to get into handguns (I'm 16 btw). My dad gave me an old revolver of his (first handgun). Only problem being is that it needs a firing pin and a general overhaul. It's got a lot...
