Granted the full size 1911 is heavy, but honestly with a good holster, it hides as well or better than a lot of other frames on the belt. The first weapon I cc'd was a G23 back in 1996... and it HAD to be hidden...applying those principals is much simpler with a FS 1911...and the the 5 in...
Vickers and Suarez both do custom stuff...the Vickers seem to have a cult following on Facebook. I will say I dig the Vickers sights...very similar to Wilsons...heck they even sell them. Not sure what other stuff is done to them.
I'm still looking at 375s...like the Rugers, but a quick look at Midway shows only 4 loadings as being offered. Especially for those in the industry...is it done? I really don't want to be regulated to hand loading, and occasional runs of factory offerings.
I'll try to respect your request, but BLM is deeply involved in the incident you posted...and the choice for open carry at a highly charged event involving a group with a propensity for violence.
Please note that the Mayor of Dallas is now advocating an end to open carry...for the same reasons...
Until it slows down a response to a mass shooting, or causes police to waste time or resources looking for him...not to mention driving home the antis point. Add in how badly it could have gone.
Can you really think that carrying that rifle to an event with a history of violence was a good...
I will continue to hate the 41 until I find and can afford an original 4 in Smith 41 with adjustable sights...at that point, I promise I will profess my love publicly!
Quoting small sections is beyond me...but to clarify...responding officers were slowed by having to deal with those OCing long guns similar to what they SUSPECTED was being or had been firing...a quick example: the original suspect or person of interest had apparently turned in or had his...
Ok...there are a lot of differing opinions on this page...Im going to try and add my perspective. First off I believe in an unrestricted 2A. No need to question that...and I probably won't argue with those that accuse me of anything else.
Common sense has to prevail in all things...Open...
I laid out a case for what I think is a bad idea...you seem to be spoiling for a fight for some odd reason-so just like with my ex-wife "whenever it makes you happy dear".
Don't try to make this a racial or 1st Amendment thing. My point (and I stand by it) is that when you pick up a gun, you pick up additional responsibilities. Open carry of a weapon with " shock value" in certain circles at an event which has historically had a potential for violence isn't a...
Open carry is legal in Texas...but just because you can do something doesn't mean it's a good idea...open carry with a large conspicuous weapon at a protest....especially of a type that has historically gotten violent is a bad idea. Regardless of race, political/religious beliefs etc, we have...
This is the safest and smartest plan. Odds are in all of your twisting and turning to get wallet...proof of insurance...registration, you are gonna flash the weapon...or your posture alone will alert the officer. There is a world of difference in no duty to alert, and in it being a bad idea.
I wonder why they set the 3 in up that way? I'd prefer the 357 in a 3 in...and a large part of the LCR's appeal for me is the hammer less fire control system.
