Orion8472 -At the time of the article we did not have a 9mm XDS in stock. Since we are comparing frame, function, size... and not any type of ballistics, I'm not sure where there would have been any difference other than maybe loaded weight and felt recoil.
Shield or XDS for a concealed carry gun? We get asked this question at least 2-3 times per day in the shop and I constantly see it brought up on the gun forums so I decided to do a article on our gun blog with my personal opinion and comparison of the two. Hoping it may help for those still up...
As mentioned, Ameriglo has come out with a nice set of night Sights for the M&P's. They look great and as mentioned above they have the Trijicon vials which carry a 12 illumination warranty.

I actually had a Glock 19, Kimber Custom II and a scale right beside me when I read this, so here you go. :)
Glock 19 (stock) w/16 rounds of 124gn - 30.8 oz.
Kimber Custom II w/8 rounds of 230gn - 44.7 oz.
And for comparison,
Glock 21 (stock) w/14 rounds of 230gn - 40.1 oz.
Zack...
It takes a little pressure but push the guide rod until the hole pushes past the end of the slide. Once it does, insert the takedown tool in the hole to hold the spring pressure.
Good luck,

Fly320s,
Titegroup and Precision Bullets are my main plinking loads in .45 and 9mm. Been using this combo for over 4 years now and have never had a problem with the moly coating. I also used the TG with Bear Creek moly coated when they were available and never had problems there either.
I would suggest picking up a Ruger MK III or sometimes you can find deals on used MK II's. The MK III (new) should be around your 300.00 mark.
Good luck,
Zack
