Yeah, that's pretty much the question. Does anybody make a .22LR shotshell which will cycle, say, a 10/22's action? It seems to be a pretty universal caveat.

Since all the AK's I've handled were semi-auto, I'm having a difficult time imagining what it is preventing the hammer from moving forward with the bolt carrier, since it's quite a bit faster-moving--as seen here:
