I live in wintson-salem, there are people who support open carry here and just as many who dont. If you come across a law enforcement officer they may ask to see your permit. As for open carry in wal-mart or gas stations, I strongly urge you not to. Check out the THR Library for NC gun laws...

I was just wondering, has anyone heard of Smith & Wesson making a compact M&P in .45. I know they only offer the M&P compacts in 9, .40, and .357 sig. I am hoping within the next year or so a compact .45 will be available. Please let me know if you've heard anything.
