Another vote for the giraud, I have had one for a couple of years now, have the .223 and the .308 cutters. It is expensive, but, it does work very well.

    Scratches on .223 brass--why?

I would say something on extraction myself. If it was in the chamber, I don't think the marks would be shiney.

Maybe I didnt play enough with my load for the bulk Hornady 55 gr. SP's, but I was able to get better groupings out of the bulk Hornady 55gr. FMJ's in my rifle. Not by much mind you though.

You pretty much have to...

    PMC brass

Eugene, I dunno how long, it is quick and easy though. I would suspect a few hundred an hour if you can handle the repetition. I spread it out over a few days, working a half hour to an hour or so a night

    Electric Case Trimmer

If you have a lot of brass to trim, get the Giraud, you will not be sorry. It is a very well built machine. Just insert the case, a little twist and you are done. Expensive, yes, but worth it, imo.

The 50's work just fine in my 1-9. I have only punched paper so far, working up a load. No keyholing and pretty accurate once I got the charge dialed in.

I purchased some of these also, but to shoot out of my AR. I could not find any data for this specific bullet anywhere on the web. So, I sent an email to Barnes, and a day later I got a nice data sheet in the inbox from them. :)
