Building an AR15 and a few other questions

I'm kind of a newbie at this so I am looking for some guidance. I'm interested in getting an AR15. Near as I can tell, there are four ways to get one. 1. Buy a complete assembled rifle. 2. Buy a completed upper half and a completed lower half. Easy assembly. 3. Buy a complete parts...

Recommend a knife: EDC 3" Folder

Recommend a decent knife for me. Every day carry (preferably with a clip). 3" or less blade. I kind of like the CRKT M16s (although they may be a little long). What else is similar?

How do you plan on "stimulating the economy" when the AWB expires (knock on wood)

Flat top AR15 carbine, collapsable stock, barrel threaded for flash supressor, etc. Mags for above. Mags for CZ.

    Tom Clancy Op Center

Well, I finished off all of the Clancy authored books already except for Teeth of the Tiger which is only in hardcover at this point. I was looking for some other direction to head. I considered reading the Ryanverse in chronological order, as opposed to the roughly published order I read them...

    Tom Clancy Op Center

I just finished reading the first book in the Op Center series. This is the one created by Tom Clancy and Steve Pieczenik but actually written by Jeff Rovin. It's an interesting, if short, read. (At just under 400 pages, it's only 1/2 to 1/3 of a Clancy written novel.) There were several...

449.00 Okay for a 1911 SA Mil Spec (not the GI45)?

Having researched this myself a few weeks ago before buying the same gun myself, I would say that is a pretty reasonable price. I did pay less for mine ($429), but that was by far the lowest I had seen. Most reported prices were in the $450 to $500 range.

Do you wear camoflauge to the range?

Count me among those who don't own any camo. So the answer to the question is no. Normal range attire: Weekday days: Office camo. Khakis and polo. All other times: Urban camo. Cargo shorts, t-shirt, and ball cap.

    Kansas CCW Vetoed

Great. Now all they have to assume is that any person they stop could be a criminal with a firearm. Is there really a difference? How much different is this to the risk of exposing children to loaded handguns in their parents' closets, dressers, and nightstands? I also note that she...

Job Prospect in Claremore, OK. What's it like?

I hear there is a HUGE gun show in Tulsa twice a year. I haven't been but a co-worker goes annually. He said it's something you have to see to believe.

    Buy ammo in April!!

I'm not sure about lead and copper, but steel prices have increased dramatically (up 50%) in the past two months. Reason: China is buying huge amounts of scrap metal.

    What is this???

I don't know how it shoots. I'm asking because I became worried (after purchasing it), that it might be loaded too hot for my CZ to (safely) handle. I'd like to shoot it, but now I'm not so sure... :scrutiny:

    What is this???

Cool. I was just going to do a search on this. It's Spanish NATO surplus. I picked up some at a gun show a few weeks ago. So, the concensus is that it's a little hot, but not +P?
