    I admit I'm a sucker for the grain of a wood stock, and have repaired, and Boiled Linseed Oiled dozens of old guns. I probably would have repaired, and refinished the stock, but it's his shotgun, and he did it "His Way". If it makes a fella happy, and is functional, more power to him!

    Yes, I had the same thing happen on a Buck I shot several seasons ago. I stopped using them right there, bought some Hornady XTP's with Sabots, and have had great results on whitetail deer using them.

    Went Turkey huntin with NITRO TURKEY

    Rem Nitro Turkey 3" #4's patterned best out of my Mossberg 500 @ 40 yards. #5's patterned pretty well also, better than the other 6 loads I tried that day. Seems to be a decent turkey load, no complaints.

    Feral Hogs as Food

    I shot 3 of these in the head, 12 ga, 7/8 oz slugs. They drop in their tracks with a good head shot, using slugs, or an appropriate caliber. I use the smoker quite a bit for hams, and ribs, but I also grind the neck, shoulders, flank, scrap meat, and use it just like ground beef. Wild hog...

    Several of my No 4's group better at 200 yards than they do at 100 yards. I was puzzled, but found that it was no secret to British/Canadian armourers.
