What happened to the Spanish gunmakers?

Shung! That 1911 is attempting to seduce me,-- I find it's behavior to be entirely inappropriate! But I do not understand the last line of the article which you quoted. They will not export their arms to the U.S.A.? Is this seduction a terrible tease? a dreaded delusion? :(

    Guns and Canadians

A violent crime comparison between the United States and Canada, with Britain thrown in for good measure. Data courtesy of a recent report by the European Union and United Nations, as reported by The Daily Mail. United Kingdom: 2,034/100k Canada: 935/100k U.S.A.:466/100k Next time you see...

Own an AR15 or AK? This guy thinks you shouldn't

I've learned, in my experience, that a woman can lend the ear of a man more aptly than another man can, so I ask: Do respond in kind to this fellow on my behald, Ms. turnyourback. You sure can own high performance race cars. There is an enormous grassroots amateur racecar culture in this...

I am kinda bummed that I am missing out on the gun buying panic

Browningguy, I must know. What is the top gun in your picture? It looks like a mix between M1 Garand, M1903 Springfield, has a detachable magazine, and it has the barrel profile of a FAL. What is that beauteous creature and by what name do I call her? I truly must know :what:

Thank you for supporting the U.S. economy. Your stimulus is appreciated in the markets that matter most in the months to come :D:D

What is the beef about the S&W locks

Rugers are nice guns, I'm not giving them any guff. But single actions are the only Rugers I've handled, hence mentioning that they also have a lock. I don't have a major issue with the lock. I'd just rather get guns that have more of the qualities that I prefer: Blued, partial underlug, etc...

Damage caused by brass muzzle guide

I didn't see anything in the pictures :uhoh: Maybe I don't have a trained eye for these sorts of things, but it looks like fouling to me, too... Either way, unless the scratches are in the crown of the barrel, accuracy should not be greatly effected.

What is the beef about the S&W locks

Ahem... OP, take the grip panel off of one of your newer Rugers and tell me what that strange little device is.... Locks happened. I'm over it. I just buy used guns. They have a few advantages that I find agreeable: they come in blued; they come in other variations other than fully underlugged...

    The Economy and Revolver Prices

Jeez Ala Dan, done bragging yet? And yet, despite lower demand and enormous supply, revolvers are still expensive. Could somebody please explain to me how it is that the basic laws of economics do not apply to revolvers? Are they somehow magical? Magically awesome, perhaps, but...

What revolver does George Clooney's Character In Dusk Till Dawn Use?

If I'm not mistaken, didn't he use a model so-and-so boot to kick President Charlton Heston while his body was still warm? :fire: I'm surprised he didn't spontaneously combust the minute he touched a gun... maybe it wasn't real...

What do you like about revolvers?

I have no issues with "staging" the trigger. It is a more accurate slow fire method that S&W allows through engineering, damn their lawyer books. But in a real combat situation, double-action is a key shooting method. "Staging" is for target practice. As for me, revolvers feel right and right...

    .38 Special +P Ammo Tests - Today's Results (Pics)

I'm glad to see the "FBI load" did well. It confirms that the older folks with years of experience have not done wrong by these newer ideas of expansion before penetration. My S&W 442 will be loaded with LSWCHP until further evidence. :p

Gun ownership in France -- still active

Albeit a 10 month old thread, a very good read nonetheless. :) I'll try a little French: C'est bon que les gens Francais ont l'Liberte aussi! Nous sommes freres, vraiment. (Pardon my absence of accents, but I don't know how to make them on this website!) This but increases the necessity for...

Do S&W Model 10 Revolvers Still Sell Well?

As humorous a thought as that is, there is absolutely no reason to believe that that will not certainly be the case :D And I believe the fired case is used by some states for some kind of registration. I don't know which one, but I'm thinking it's Massachusetts for some reason.

    No Lock News Flash!!

I agree with some of the other suspicious folks: This could very well just be S&W finally updating their website to reflect the small batch of no-lock J-frames they recently put onto the market. The revolver mentioned is not listed as a catalog item per se, but as a dealer exclusive or something...

    S&W carry gun Project.

Carrying a full-sized .22 for a carry gun is your prerogative. I see no reason why you couldn't mail only the part to be engraved. It would save you a lot of hassle/money, I'm sure. Could be cool if done right. Could be lamer than tartar sauce. Engraving specific images instead of...

    Two 642's

What you're describing is a New York Reload. Fairly common. It has its pros and cons just like anything else. If you are really concerned, there is no reason not to do it. There are even double-holstered shoulder rigs for J-frames for this reason.

What Gun for Arming the Helpless? A Different Sort of Hypothetical

I don't know if this has been mentioned (because I couldn't read the hair-splitting of terms), but, according to the 1992 congressional appraisal of the history of the Second Amendment, Virginia once upon a time fined folks for not going about armed. If they could not afford a gun, they were...

For those who blur your serial numbers in pics ...

Sharing pictures of your guns makes JCMAG smile (except if it is an ugly autloader :p) But JCMAG does not require serial numbers. It is theoretically possible that someone could report your firearm as stolen. It is very, very unlikely, mostly because that individual opens themselves up to a...
