    Silencers - Decibel Differences

140dB is the cutoff for instantaneous exposure hearing damage. The sonic crack of the bullet is usually around 136-140dB depending on altitude, humidity, temperature, etc., so the suppressor really can only bring you to the edge of "hearing safe" with a supersonic round. That said, I find my...

    Fun With Trail Boss

Does a 77gr .223 stabilize in a 1:9 barrel at subsonic speeds? I was thinking of trying this out.

    7.5x55 bullet seating

Yup, the VLD bullets loaded in the GP-11 are longer for the same weight. I use 168gr Hornady match (analagous to the SMK of the same weight) at 2.890" or a Remington 180gr soft point boat tail at 2.850". Best thing to do is use a OAL guage like Hornady's Lock-n-Load, but I made my own out of...

    NFA and Trusts

In states like WI, where there is no law against perpetuity, no transfer will ever be needed again as long as the instrument (the trust) persists. That's even less hassle than a Form 5.

    38 Super w/ AutoComp?

After finding some literature 115gr RN lead loads at 6.5gr max charge, I felt comfortable trying a bit more powder. This load duplicates the performance (group, POI) of the Winchester White Box 130gr ammo in my wife's RIA Govt'. with much less felt recoil: Remington 115gr FMJ RN .355" OD...

    38 Super w/ AutoComp?

That's my next move (I was going to order a 10lb.) if I can't get it to generate a little more pressure. Did you change your mainspring, too? I fitted an EGW FPS into this thing, so I'm not sure if that will change my spring needs, too. Thanks for the advice!

    Fun With Trail Boss

I'm working up a subsonic load for my (soon to be; c'mon ATF!) suppressed K-31 using TrailBoss. The instructions are awesome, and you really can't mess up (as long as you don't crush the powder) as the pressures will stay well below maximum levels.

    38 Super w/ AutoComp?

Anyone have some load data for ball FMJ 115-130gr bullets on top of Winchester AutoComp? I'm having trouble developing enough pressure to get proper ejection in my 1911 with a Remington 115gr bullet and this powder. I'm already at the maximum charge I can find published for this bullet weight...

    180gr load for 7.5 Swiss

Range Report: I loaded up 20 rounds which were identical other than the powder charge: Prvi FL Resized and trimmed brass, Fed 210 Primers, Remington (oops I think I said Win. before) 180gr PSP CL-WC bullets (.308) seated at 2.850". I loaded five of each to 39.2, 39.6, 40.0, and 40.4...

    180gr load for 7.5 Swiss

Cool, guys thanks for the replies. Most of the heavier bullets I've seen loads for are boat tails, so I wasn't sure how the flat tail would compare as far as volume taken up. Should I move up from 39.2gr, or down? I know these usually are very close to .308 Win for load data, but usually...

    180gr load for 7.5 Swiss

I've done some searching, but haven't been able to find anything on a particular load I'm working up, so I wanted to run some ideas past you all and see what you think; I'm just starting off and I'm prety much working with whatever I could find, as there isn't a lot out there (as you all know)...

    Aperture setup for Remington 597

Hey- I've been doing some research and shopping for an aperture setup for my 597. I know it's not the most accurate gun in the world, but I need to practice with aperture sights to get my front sight focus better w/o chewing up a ton of 7.5 Swiss ammo in my target rifle. So far, my rear...
