Painting bullet tips was/is a method to score targets used by multiple shooters (usually in anti-air exercises).
Each shooter is given ammo with different a different colored paint. When the bullet passes through the target (usually a windsock towed behind a plane), the bullet leaves a ring of...
Overall, I enjoy watching the show, but don't actually believe much of it.
Regarding THIS episode, was that voice in the back of anybody else's head screaming "Zulu!" the longer it went on? About all they left out was the singing.

Twice now I've held my nose and gotten 2 boxes of WWB 9mm from the local WM here in Florida. Both times the clerk asked for ID, but there was no scanning, nor even more than a cursory glance at it. I asked why, and he said it was to make sure I was a FL resident. We got into a discussion...
I tried to shoot this match on Saturday the 13th. Spent more'n a few rounds getting the scope on the Nylon 66 dialed in right after its 12-year layoff. :uhoh: First thing I noticed was... I SUCK OFFHAND WITH A RIFLE. There, I said it. Couldn't steady up on the target. Tried to shoot when...
In the name of all that's Holy, please, NO!
Well, come to think of it, I would love to see the other guys' faces when you uncase it.
OK, but do it to a Boyd's stock or something, not GI, OK?

The 50-round requirement does NOT need to be fulfilled by a competition. A signed statement from a Rangemaster that you shot 50 rounds in target practice would do. As would the completion certificate of a shooting clinic.
Didn't see it mentioned yet, but a copy of a DD-214 or current...
Redneck,
Keep in mind when looking at the parts for matching numbers that M1 parts were not serialized to the receivers. The number on the parts (that have numbers) are the drawing numbers that the parts conform to. It's not as easy as checking them to see if they match each other; they...
Kris,
Here's a pic of an annealed receiver:

And here's one of a receiver that hasn't had the chamber entrance reparkerized:

Kinda hard to tell, but you can see the bare metal...
Kris,
That's a nice-lookin' M1 ya got there... Well, YOU don't have it yet, but.... youknowwhatimean...
Yes, the RRAD is the arsenal rebuild mark. That one is Red River Army Depot. Letterkenny Army Depot electropenciled their mark (LEAD) onto the right front receiver leg. The LEAD...
Turk Ammo
RE the Turk ammo...
I've put one full bando of this stuff (mfg 1946) through my Yugo 98 so far. Some split necks, sticky extraction, and a bruised shoulder, but no real problems that Damnathius cites. I usually get at least one split neck per mag-full, but haven't seen a primer...
Kris,
That IS a low number. Wouldn't be surprised if it was originally a Gas Trap version.
You might want to post your question on the Jouster M1/M14 forum. I'm sure the guys there would have plenty of info for ya.
Only thing I can think of is to check the receiver for the annealed heel...
M1, 2 bandoliers of Danish, and a 50-cal can of Korean in clips.
(No handloads yet)
Decision time: 6- or 10- inch bayonet?
MMmmmmm..... Danish........
LostCajun
SkunkApe,
Definitely start working on data sheets. It'll save a lot of time answering specific questions back and forth and might reveal an all-correct gem or more-desirable specimen on your friend's hands.
The minimum info you should have available is the manufacturer and serial number of...
"Normal Trigger for the M6"
You stated they have one with a normal trigger. I looked at the Springfield
site and I dont see it. Do you know of a link? I they have changed the trigger I want one of these.
Maddogkiller: Can you post pics?
I can't quite get from your description how your system works. It seems you're just plugging the hole in the plug screw with the allen head screw.
Are you using a cross-cut plug screw and threading the webs of the cross-cuts down into the hole, then screwing...
