    Need AR advice: Balance?

I am fond of light weight 18" barrels with rifle gas. I have one (35 oz) with an A2 stock and TRX forend, I think it is balanced very well.

    National Match Armory

Thinking of sending a Garand to Eric for a work over. Anyone have experience with him? Were you pleased with the end result? Would you do it again? Rifle needs a new barrel so I am looking at the 2K plus new barrel fee. Just trying to figure out if it is worth the price or if I should...

    what m1a would you choose?

I voted for the loaded. All of the NM goodies without having to worry about the bedding.

    firearm storage

I am one of these people. I use Eezox with great success as a rust preventative. I keep a rag dampened with Eezox in a ziplock bag for quick wipe downs.

    AR's, why 1/2 MOA over 1/4 MOA

I have 1/2 x 1/2 on mine. I have never felt the need for 1/4 MOA adjustments. Once I think my rifle system and skills are up to 1/4 MOA precision, I may upgrade. Then again, I also use a USGI sling...

Who makes a good powder measure?

I have a Harrell and Lee perfect. I like the Harrell better because of the discrete adjustment. With a little practice on my technique I have been able to get very consistent throws. The lee is more diffict to adjust and just feels cheap (it is)

    Very nice work.

    Tactical Tomahawks

I have an RMJ Shrike and it is a nice piece of kit. It lacks the weight to be a good work tool but it would make an outstanding fighting tool. Like others have suggested, Gransfors Bruks makes some fine tools (expensive). Estwing is an inexpensive alternative.

    M1A vs M14

Several companies are now making semi-auto rifles with M14 stamped on the receiver. Some are milled and some are forged. Only Springfield can use the M1A name so all others must use M14 or come up with something else.

    Rifleman accuracy standards in WW2

Thanks for the link. From my understanding, the standard was 4 MOA.

    M1 carbine or M1 Garand

If I wanted a tool, then I would pick the Garand. If I wanted the toy, then I would pick the carbine.

    High Power Competition Rifle

White Oak Upper(pinned rear sight) with Giessele Service Rifle Trigger (SSA if you are on a budget). Everything else is pretty standard. I went with the 1/2 x1/2 rear and have been very happy.

    Question for M1A/M14 Owners

IMHO M14/M1A are meant for iron sights. That is their attractive feature for me. If I was going to put glass on a semi-auto, I would go for an AR10 variant. In your case, for a do it all rifle, I would not suggest magnified optics.

    My First Appleseed

Your LTR will be fine. If you have a centerfire rifle bring it as well, Davilla has a KD range with steel out to 700 yards.

    what M1A1 to buy

If you plan to use irons, get the full size. They are not bull barrels so the extra few inches do not add much weight.
