Just bought my Saiga 12... What next?

The best thing you get out of a conversion is getting the trigger up where it is supposed to be. The stock trigger is very sloppy due to the linkage that is required to move it back to the sporter configuration.

    saiga-12 a rifle?

My saiga has a chrome lined barrel. That is one of the features that people buy it for.

    My Saiga 12 conversion

The russian 5 rounders have a bit of a rough finish while the keepshooting.com 5 rounders have a smooth plastic finish. If it came with the shotgun it is a russian magazine. Send me a PM and I will send you my email address. I have another guy interested too let me figure out what he has...

    My Saiga 12 conversion

Thanks, I thought it turned out well for having a "thumbhole". Yes I have 6 of the keepshooting.com mags and they are good. I'm in NY so anything over 10 rounds is taboo (therefore the "thumbhole" stock also).

    Saiga 410 compliance/stock questions

Yes any stamped AK stock will work. It's the front handguard that takes some doing to get on a Saiga.

    My Saiga 12 conversion

This is Saiga build by Cadiz Gun Works. It was there for warranty work (vodka special) so I figured I would get a professional conversion. I tried to get some close-ups of the nice finishing work where the welded the holes and ground them down and refinished. I also got a krebs ghost ring...

    Nikkon Prostaff Scope

All Nikons even the Monarchs are made in the Philippines. If you want a budget Nikon spend an extra $50 and get the Team Primos. It is a Monarch and side by side it is a much better scope than the price difference would suggest. And yes I have shot through both side by side on numerous...

Hornady TAP 110gr in standard M1A

That Hornady 110gr ammo is fine for the M1A. Depending on your particular rifle though it may short stroke on you once and a while especially when dirty or dry. A nice clean properly greased M1A with a USGI spring should operate fine though.

    Crem De La Crem M4gery

If you want the closest you can get to the real deal definitely start with a Colt. Magpul UBR stocks are cool. Are you going the SBR route?

    Nikon scope durability

People spend a lot more on a lifetime warrantee when they buy a Leupold so the $40 is worth it IMO (though the Leupold warranty is better).

    Nikon scope durability

Just spend the extra $40 on a new one and skip lunch for a week.

Taking weight and tension off an AK barrel?

Seems like a silly thing to do. Of course there are those "because it's there" kind of people so that's cool. I'm sure you can make an AK somewhat more accurate by truly floating the barrel but you will be better served by hand loading and a good trigger job. After you float the barrel you...

Any one seen any good bargains on scopes?

I'm really starting to wonder why you keep saying this? I'm sure it's a nice little scope with lots of eye relief, but if Nikon's own website is to be believed it is more along the lines of a buckmaster or prostaff. Definitely does not have the Monarch glass, turrets or tube as the team primos...

Need a scope with eye relief. Burris Timberline

Nikon Omega has something like 5" as I recall. Probably is equal to the buckmaster line.

    My most recent M14 build

A new one goes for around $1600. It's hard to say these days but for an excellent condition loaded model with the stainless barrel that is about right. Maybe since the guy needs money you can offer $1100.
