SRs are Back in Ruger's Line-up

I just traded in my sr9c towards p365 xl. I found I shot my cz p10c better than the sr9c, so it went away. It was a very reliable gun. Since it was discontinued, I sure didn't get much from the gun store for it.

    aiming with a flashlight?

FWIW, I got rid of a family of raccoons in our chimney when I was a kid by taping a mag light to the bottom of a Crosman B.B. gun barrel and aiming with the light.

    SR-9C

I bought the SR9c since when I compared it to similar glocks, m&p's, xd's, etc available at the time, it had the best trigger and most comfortable grip of the strikers I tried. I have since discovered 1911's, so the sr9c does not get much love anymore. I wish I shot it as good as the 1911's...

Pistol caliber carbine poll / semi-autos only

I picked up the Stern Defense upper and block. I am hoping it does the trick.

Why isn't maple used in more shotgun/rifle stocks?

Actually, maple needs a dye stain to get really dark. Maple is too dense to take pigments stains well. If the molecule size of pigment stain is the size of a skyscraper, the particle size of a dye stain is the size of a single brick. That allows it to penetrate into denser woods like maple.

    Best $1500 9mm??

When I had the target 9mm itch, I wanted a 210 but they were not being imported and the old ones were rare/too expensive. I ended up with a Dan Wesson PM9. I am happy with it and am not looking at selling it to get a 210 now. I would love to shoot both side by side some day. I feel my full...

Testing Buffer Weights and Gas Flow

I have a 10.5” ar pistol that I want to swap between both 5.56 and a soon to arrive 9mm upper. The current buffer is a standard carbine H buffer. Is there one buffer set up that will work well for both? I know some people use a heavier buffer for short barrel ar's. The oroignal configuration...

    Franklin Armory Does It Again!

Does it mean that as long as the overall length full extended is over 26”, the barrel can be under 16” then and it is an “other” firearm? It is kind of like how a pistol braced AR with a shorter barrel that measures over 26” can have a forward mounted pistol grip and is now an “other” firearm...

Am I the only long-time shooter here who's never shot an AR?

I bought a Sig MCX a couple years ago. I still have not shot it either. Main reason is I have only been to indoor pistol ranges and don’t see the point of shooting it at 25 yards. Eventually I will join an outdoor range again, I hope.

Are Glock owners the new 1911 people?

I guess I am an oddity. I started with a striker fired Ruger sr9c and migrated to 1911s. Never cared for glocks.

    P938 anyone?

For me, it is extend mag if carrying IWB and the flush one if it is in a pocket. That is what works best for me overall.

Striker Fired vs 1911 - a dispassionate discussion?

I really like my Dan Wesson pm-9.

    405 gr @ 2000 fps

I read this article http://www.garrettcartridges.com/penetration.html years ago on the 45-70 vs .458 and thought it was interesting. I have no personal experience with this, so just posting it since it seems to provide good info for this topic.

What does .22LR cost in YOUR area?

.09-.10 per round. CCI stuff, federal 0711, etc. Maybe 0.08 for the federal 325 auto stuff.

.40 is to 10mm as 9mm is to.....?

How about the 9x23? Does not look like finding manufacturer ammo is going to be an option for it though.

Carryable Doublestack Options with frame safety

Still say 90% or more dual clips on belt = gun. Or a gun guy with some accessory (mag, light, knife) holder made by a gun holster manufacturer and gun is elsewhere most likely. I am sure there are exceptions to the rule, but the majority of the time...it's a gun.

Carryable Doublestack Options with frame safety

I understand why some may not want the cross symbol on the clips due to their beliefs. But, when I have spotted people carrying because of clips it has been from way too far away to tell what logo is on it. I am not aware of any other product people use that has clips like the crossbreed...

Carryable Doublestack Options with frame safety

Took about a month for mine. I liked the idea of no leather for hot weather. Seems like leather could be hot and sweaty. Who knows. The winter was my first with a cpl so what do I know.

Carryable Doublestack Options with frame safety

As I mentioned in my post, stealthgear onyx and n82 pro here. N82 is most comfortable. Now that I adjusted the cant, onyx is nice too, but position when sitting affects comfort more. Onyx prints less and draws faster.
