I don't really believe so. All a GSR kit can prove is that you shot or handle a firearm recently. I've been a cop 12 years and thats all I've ever learned. It's really not a very good source of evidence.
They say a true test of a man's intelligence is the degree to which you agree with him. That being said...you are a very smart man! This is almost exactly whats in my bag, minus the fishing kit (no good lakes around here and the fishing sucks). Sounds like a winner of a kit to me.
Kindrox, that is horrible! I make sure all my friends and family know to NEVER alter the state of any of my guns. It's always fun to chew out the mother in law isn't it!?
Good luck to you Duke of Doubt. I really am just glad that you are carrying period. More Americans should be carrying, perhaps society would be more polite then.
Rbernie, you are absolutely right. It's his life and he has to handle it however he sees fit. I would just like to see that in most situations, he is probably making the wrong choice. Hopefully nothing bad will ever happen to him and all of this will be moot anyhow.
It's your life Duke of Doubt, but I think most people on THR will have to admit that being robbed in a grocery store parking lot is a more realistic scenario than being shot by a sniper from 300 yards. You are carrying a gun, but you are only preparing for the best of situations. You should be...
"You cannot be 100% positive your gun is loaded"?!?! So let me get this straight. I'm at home, safe and sound. I load a magazine into my handgun, then chamber a round. I check my chamber loaded indicator, and do a press check. Ok, got it, my gun is loaded. Then I stick it in my holster...
And what if you are walking out of the grocery store with bags in hand and some guy comes up with a knife and wants your car keys? Ever heard of a Tueller drill?
Wow! I can't believe some of the posts I have seen here. People afraid to carry a round in the chamber because of fear the gun might go off? If you are "afraid" of your gun, then you should not be carrying it! The average gunfight last somewhere around 2.4 seconds. Remember, a bad guy will...
I was about 8. Didn't really "get into" shooting hardcore till about 14 though, and ever since then it's been downhill...or uphill...I'm not sure which!
How old is she? I started my boy shooting when he was six and will start my daughter at that age also. Firearms safety lessons for both of them started as young as four.
I agree with DarkSoldier. It is an ANALOGY! Sheepdogs, either military or law enforcement, don't "herd" or "hold" any sheep civilians for any "overlord" of "sheperd". Law enforcement sheepdogs simply enforce the law of the land, laws made by the general populace. Simply put, if the crap hits...
hso hit the nail on the head. Sheepdogs are those who's life calling is to protect. CCW holders are most likely "sheep with fangs". It does not all boil down to guns though. Being a Sheepdog is a way of life. Not guns physically defending people, but helping them also.
