Some very interesting 32 autos! Never fired a 32 until 2022 when I bought a 1969 Walther PPK/S that came with alligator box and even an old box of Federal ammo. Not a target gun by any means but for a pocket pistol I was quite pleased. Shown is a 10 shot target at 7 yds shot standing with two...
My Sig P226 Elite , while not bullseye accurate , has been the most accurate 9mm pistol I've ever owned. I too wanted an accurate 25/50 yard pistol. Never tried any of my loads from a rest but shooting from a standing position with a two hand hold it does well enough for what it is. Tried a...
If I had known that version of the Legion existed I may have bought one instead of the P226 Elite I ended up with. Especially with it being optic ready. I ended up ordering an optic slide with Romeo 1 Pro 6MOA. Not long ago went to a 3MOA. Only gripe I have with the P226 Elite is the creepy...
In over 35 years of handgun shooting I had never fired a 32 auto until last September when I decided to buy a 1969 Walther PPK/S in 32. Even had an old box of Federal ammo that came with it. I was expecting recoil to be similar to my PPK/S 380 but it was indeed quite mild in comparison! And the...
Not a J-frame but just last week changed out the rebound spring in a 617 22lr K-frame and left the stock hammer/mainspring in the gun. All the Smith misfires I've ever had in 35 years of shooting them was with an aftermarket mainspring installed. The pull in my 617 is much improved in both DA...
With one exception all of my magnum revolvers have a rubber grip and I can fire them without any discomfort compared to wood grips. A lot of wood grips bite me right at the base of the large thumb joint. Rubber grips solve the issue for me.
These days most of my 357 revolver shooting is at 25 or 50 yards on NRA slowfire targets. Back in the late 1980s I shot a few NRA silhouette matches where there were 100 yard rams. I shortly afterwards switched over to the TC Contender in 357 and 22lr.
Actually the stock Glock sights are one of the few handgun sights that I can still see reasonably well. Plus it does not take a hydraulic press to move the rear sight for windage.
Bought my Single Six new in 1999 and have fired many thousands of rounds through it and it shoot just as good now as it did 21 years ago - like EVERYONE else said about yours - Just keep shooting it!
I was kind of thinking the same. In the 25 years I have been shooting handguns I see far more 686s at the range than any K-Frame Smith.
Owning several Model 66s and 686s through the years I much prefer the 686 for shooting of 357 mag ammo. For carry use I liked the 2 1/2" 66.
I was looking for my first AR not too long ago and wanted to meet these three goals:
1- very accurate
2- decent trigger pull
3- under a grand
I went with a Rock River 18" Varmint and it met all of the above. The two stage trigger measure at 3.25lbs on my gauge and is very crisp. The...
Clark Custom Combat 1911
4" Colt Python
Sako P94S Finnfire Varmint 22lr
Walther PPK/S stainless
Of all those I have traded or sold over the years these are the 4 I wish I had kept.
I would definitely unload that 629. Should be reasonably easy to sell.
Yes , the 629-5 is MIM. I have one in the 6 1/2" and the accuracy is among the best of any handgun I have ever fired. Also own a Springfield Range Officer 1911. I actually enjoy having both to shoot.
Nice buy on the 357 Blackhawk. It looks far better than I thought it would after reading the post.
I've owned a few of the 6 1/2" Blackhawk 357s and one 4 5/8" too. One thing they all had in common was excellent accuracy.
I now have a 1976 "Liberty" stainless Blackhawk , also in 357 and...
