Hornady's 7th has 5.7 to 7.6 gr. Unique for its recommended loads.
I've shot 8.5 gr. Unique in my Contender with 250 gr. cast Keith style and gas check.
I have used 11.0 gr. Unique under a 240 gr. Hornady JHP.

I've used Bullseye in 357 @ 3.5 gr. with a 158 gr. CSWC, and at 5.0 gr. in a 44 mag. with a cast 250 gr. Keith. Didn't seem to matter whether gas checked or not. These were shot in a 2" revolver and a 8" Contender.
Nice plinking loads. Could have gone hotter, but if I needed a hunting round...

Working up loads.
My experience with these calibers and working up loads has been one component change can make a significant difference. Just going to a magnum primer makes a significant difference. Reduce the variables to as few as possible.

I have a model 14; Bought new in 1971. Super shooter; Trigger is adjustable.
Only problem I ever had was with bad ammo in double action. Cartridges had sharp edges that would catch on barrel rotation.
This one has handled more than a thousand reloads without any hickups.
