    "Press Check" Questions

    1. Insert magazine and manipulate to load firearm. 2. Remove magazine and grasp front quarter of slide with non-master hand thumb and index finger, from under the firearm. Retract slide to verify cartridge is chambered, return firearm to battery. 3. Top off magazine and re-insert. Verify...

What's the consensus on STI Spartan in 9mm?

Had a play with one. Armscor frame, STI innards. Non ramped barrel. Fairly close to a 'traditional' 1911. I liked it, would pay a bit more for another barrel though.

Slide release vs. racking the slide back

    glock 21

This is just my experience... Grip is a little wider than the 17. I've got small hands but others with larger hands like it more. 13rd magazine capacity is nice. The gun seemed a bit less forgiving in recoil than a 17, having said that I haven't had any faults (only witnessed others).

XD slide drops if you hit the mag?

Normal. Most semi-autos I've used will do it. If one didn't, I wouldn't want it.

Would you trust carrying you DA/SA or SA Cond. 0?

I've carried my Glock (with a competition trigger) for the past year, round chambered, no holster. But would I do it with a single action gun? Mmm, probably not, no. (I want my Beretta!)
