My first thought was the Mini-14 also.

Both are good guns---I have the X-bolt. I have the blued/wood model---don't much care for blued/wood---but I can't find a good reason to trade it off---its a good gun.

1. Should do that easily. 2.Ruger rings are Ruger rings. 3.Very safe---the safety locks the hammer down. 4.Not sure on price---the panic buying really jacked things up. A lot of times a muzzle device will dampen barrel whip and tighten up groups.

I'd take a rifle cartridge over a pistol cartridge in a rifle sized gun every time----get the Mini.

Yours might not even have the dimples---that is a VERY recent change in the 20ga models. You will still need a magazine clamp. Leave the barrel alone-- 3 inches isn't worth the hassle--you already have screw in chokes and the rib will look weird.

$700 to $800 seems to be the going rate for Mini's anymore. Not sure about the mags----try looking up Pro-mag.

You could always pick up a band cheap if you needed one.
