Handgun carry in SC
What event are you attending in Greenville, SC. I might want to join in if it involves firearms. I have lived in Greenville for the past 35 years and your fears are unfounded. Never been pulled over in SC and the laws on how to store your gun in your vehicle are pretty lax.
I have a couple of Winchester Model 12s inherited from my dad that are that kind of slick. The action falls fully open as soon as the release button is touched. Both are from the early 1950s and are in excellent shape with vent ribs and really nice field grade checkered walnut furniture. One...
Crunchy Frog - I have been to a few cowboy matches at GGC as a spectator. The amount of time, effort, and money that goes into the costumes, gear, and period arms is impressive. The food and fellowship is pretty good too.
I live in Greenville and am a member of the Greenville Gun Club. IDPA, CPSL, and SASS have monthly matches there and some groups that use the club for matches do not require club membership. Membership is $150/year but involves an additional application fee and first year initiation fee...

I am an achitect with over 35 years experience with design and forensic design work. I see lots of really bad advice in ths thread from amatuers in the design and construction industry. Building codes prohibit many of the ideas and yes these codes apply to residential construction as well as...
i just shipped two vintage shotguns halfway across the country for repair via UPS and recived them back from the repair shop via UPS. Picked up from and deivered back to my office. Absolutely no issues.
Also the laser in a laser borsighter may not be perfectly aligned with the bore. They are not in perfect alignment, but very close. Still have to go to the range, but closer than the muzzle mounted optical boresighters can do.
There is lots of really, really bad advice and paranoia here. I sincerely doubt the slab is 24" thick, even for an isolated heavy equipment foundation. Slabs for vehicle use are rarely more than 6" thick and military arms vaults are rarely more than 8" cast concrete or 8" CMU with filled cells...
Everyone has a dominant eye. Keep both eyes open and point your finger at a far object with your arm fully extended. Keeping your finger still, close one eye then the other one a time without moving your finger. The eye that does not make the object jump is your master eye. The brain uses the...
Winchester Model 12 is a pump, not a semi-auto.
Winchester Model 11SL semi-auto was producced from 1911-1925
Winchester Model 50 & Model 59, both semi-autos were still being manufactured in 1960. The Model 40 was out of production by then.
Shotguns - My Dad and his hunting buddies that were duck & dove hunters that were heavy into reloading. Pump shotguns were the only firearms he owned. We had three Winchester Model 12s, one Ithaca 37, and one Remington Wingmaster.
Rifles - Boy Scout Summer Camp with a .22 bolt action Marlin...
I have membership at the Greenville Gun Club. The wait was not that long. The club has about 25 rifle bays up to 300 yards, about 25 pistol bays up to 50 yards, skeet, trap, and 5 stand. Cost is $150 /year after application and initiation fee. The ranges are rarely crowded.
