1851 Navy Revolver?

I just purchased a .44 1851 Navy Revolver (Pietta). I would like to know, is it possible to just change the barrel and cylinder to convert it to a .36 cal. I ask this because I wouldn't mind getting a .38 conversion for it. Thanks in advance.

catfish33, This wont be the first time I have been wrong but it seems to me that it would be cheaper to just buy a .36. I also don't believe that the cylinder would match the frame of the .44.
I'm sure someone on here will have the right answer for you and know a whole
more than I about what your wanting to do. Mike
