2 questions about 6.8mm AR - Does anyone make a chrome bolt for 6.8mm AR?

1 - Anyone make a chrome bolt for the 6.8mm AR?

2 - Is the bolt carrier group (everything but the bolt and extractor) on a 6.8mm the SAME exact thing as the one on a 5.56 AR? Meaning, if you already had a 5.56 bolt carrier group, could you then just use a 6.8mm bolt with it in a 6.8mm AR upper?

Cardinal Armory is your best bet. I don't know of anyone who sells chrome bolts. I typically use a chrome-lined bolt carrier on my 6.8 builds and call it good.

To answer your second question, yes, they are the same. I have been using Bushmaster BCs until Cardinal started carrying the LMT and CMT BCs.

Going to get a 5.45x39 build and was wondering if I should even bother with the chrome bolt and carrier - all the ammo I will use will be corrosive, but I assume if I clean meticulously after every session, the non-chromed bolt and carrier should serve me well, eh?

Hell, for the cost of the chromed bolt and carrier group, I could buy TWO non-chromed bolt and carrier groups.

I know the bolt carriers on www.ar15-kits.com are chrome lined bolt carriers.
