As the end of the year closes in and I will probably not get to the range any more this year I looked back at my records to see how I did.

I shot 12,100 rounds this year.

I reloaded 16,900 rounds so far this year.

I am still cranking 38/44's and then I will do 357 Maxes before the end of the year so I will probably do right around 19,000 round reloaded before years end.

I am ahead on 357 magnum, 380 auto, 357 Sig and 10mm. I am down relative to last year on 38 special, 38/44HS, 357 Max and 9mm. All of the rest of the rounds are about the same.

So how did you do this year? Is the ammo pile up or down compared to last year.

Well, my ammo pile is up a bit.

My wife joined the AF and left for Basic Training and Tech School, so it didn't leave me a whole lot of time to shoot or load, as I was taking care of our three daughters. My bride was gone for about 6 months this year.

I did however manage to load:

Approx: 1000 9mm rounds, 1000 .308 rounds for match, 300 7mm RM rounds, and 500 .223 rounds.

Didn't really have a lot of time to shoot until about these last 3-4 months.

Extremely proud though of my wife who joined the AF and my oldest daughter who harvested her first deer ever this year and with a reload of mine. I harvested two deer with reloads, first time ever with reloads for me. So all in all, a GREAT year!

I had a lot more reloading time than shooting time. Funny how it worked out.

Even though I have plenty of reloading components available to me I'm still not shooting as much as I did because I'm not sure when I will be able to replace those components if I shoot what I want to shoot.

It's the not knowing that's holding me back...

I don't keep track, but I am guessing half of that, not counting .22 LR. Should be about the same next year. Ammo pile is about the same, stock is a touch better.

I did not even think about supplies. Other than 22 which I am down, I am way up on powder. I am actually at my home storage limits and have my spare powder jobbed out to neighbors and friends to store just like my spare primers.

The powder situation is much better than a year ago, but the popular ones are still hard to come buy (bad pun). 2400, Unique, Power Pistol all seem a bit sparse.

Just started reloading around May. Loaded about 5k 9mm, 3k 45ACP, 500 9mm MAK and just started loading 38 special.

Have 8lb of powder, 11k primers coming in. Just need some bullets and I will be set for 2014 :)

I have loaded 7298 cartridges in 2013 spread out over 11 different cartridges.

That is probably higher than my normal average as I loaded 800 204 Ruger and 700 223 Remington were for a prairie dog hunt.

I average shooting between 4000 and 5000 rounds per year but I really do not keep any records.

Primer inventory is up, Powders that I have been using, I have been able to replace. Except for bullets for 380 ACP, I have been able to keep a good inventory of bullets.

Primer and powder inventory are up from a year ago as I bought 10K of primers and 8# of HP38 in January. I don't like to keep a big inventory of loaded rounds, just enough to carry me over for a few range visits in case I can't get some reloaded.
After 49 years as a CPA I don't want to account for anything anymore.:D

I don't keep track of the numbers like that, but I'm definitely up on loading vs shooting this year. I just didn't have as much time to shoot as I would have preferred, but spent many of the hot summer evenings at the basement loading bench.

I didn't get to the range this year like I wanted, still managed to load about 500 .223 though, 400 .38 Spl. that I do like to shoot more of when I can. I have about 350 once fired '06 cases I got from 2 years of sight-in time at our range, just need to get busy now. Powder wise I'm up, need a few more K primers for small rifle, like to keep about 5K ahead of the game, need to go to the gun show this weekend and see whats avail. .

I actually am about 2000 rounds fired down from my now 18 year historical average. My average since 1995 is 13,947 rounds fired per year and I am at 12,100 right now.

Just eyeballing the numbers, I note the following:
1) I have not fired one round of rifle this year. Interesting.

2) 10mm (2450 fired) 357mag (2300), 38 special (2229) and 38/44 (2925) are the big shooters this year. The rest is just a smattering

3) I did not fire a single 380, 38 super (the shame!), 40 or 45acp this year.

Interesting how things swing. I shot a lot of 38 Super over the last 3 years. Over 10,000 rounds. Probably it is due to the fact I only have 1,293 rounds loaded for it.

45acp has been hit or miss. I have not fired over 1000 rounds of it since 2005. I have 2,801 rounds loaded.

I guess I should get off the forums and hit the press or hit the range. 42F out so I guess it is the press next and finish off the 38/44's so I can get back on 357 Maximum's.
