.223, coyotes, and college; a combination that brings back memories.
Way back "in the day" (1974-75) I paid for my first two semesters at UTEP, shooting West Texas coyotes with one of the first Mini-14's to come from Ruger. I had a Weaver V9 on a home brew mount, and found that I could reliably make head shots from prone out to 300 yards.
What is interesting is the fact that I took this rifle to High School, and did a little show-n-tell in the school parking lot with the assistant principal when he saw it in my gun rack. We won't see those days again, sigh.
