I have a good stock of WC 872 pulldown from 20mm Valcan. It was advised to use H8700 or AA#9 load data. I know it's right up there with the slow burners high pressure powders and can be used for magnum rifle calibers. Does anyone know if that powder can be used as a .223 powder. I've spent hours trying to answer this question. Does anyone know if it would be dangerous to try and develope a load with this powder. :banghead:

I can't imagine any powder that came out of a 20mm Vulcan being usable in the .223!

FYI:
Hodgdon is H870.
Accurate is 8700.
AA #9 is a relatively fast pistol powder compared to any rifle powder!

AA # 9 burn speed would make it way to fast for .223. H8700 I am not familiar with.

Thank for the input. I didn't think it was going to be doable. It seems I'll have to find another use. Does anyone have a load they have safely found for this powder ?

a friend just bought a 20mm anzio arms cannon. i've been fondling it for 2 days.

pretty dang cool.
