Greetings all, new guy here. Starting this year we are transitioning from the SW 4043 (which we have had very bad luck with) to the sig 229R. This is good news as far as I'm concerned, but the options for leather gear appear a bit limited. Any suggestions on who is currently making concealment gear for the railed sig? Will the belt slide holsters for the original 229 work since they leave the muzzle bare? Policy (which I of course slavishly follow) requires a belt holster with retention strap for off duty carry.

I just ordered an IWB High Noon for my 229... I'll let you know what I think. This will be the thickest gun I've ever worn on a consistant basis though certainly not the heaviest.

I use an Uncle Mike's universal nylon holster with Velcro-adjustable straps with my 229. The addition of a rail to the dust cover would not effect it in this case. The only downside is that the Velcro very quickly loses it's grip if you constantly remove and readjust the straps. I found this out the hard way when I thought I could use it for both the 229 and my Glock 30. But if you only need it for one weapon, the Velcro will be more than secure enough after the first adjustment.
