Just a quick question. Does anyone happen to know how many 3" shells you can fit in the tube of the 20" barreled version of the Remington 870 tactical? It is listed as having a 3-shot extension, which should increase the capacity to 7, given that the normal capacity is 4. However, I was given to understand that those numbers refer only to 2 3/4" shells. If anyone can clarify this, thanks.

In all magazines, use of 3" shells reduces capacity by one.

So, your tube will hold 7 2 3/4" shells or 6 3" shells.

i have a 18" 870 with a +2 extension on it.

For house duty, i have it loaded with three 2 3/4" reduced recoil 00 buck, followed by four 3" magnum 00 buck. If i loaded it up with all 3" rounds, i'd probably only be able to get 6 in it, but with a mixed load i can still load up to 7.
