I recently picked up an 1894 Marlin in 44 mag and sighted in my Swift 1.5x4.5with Winchester 'hunting' semi jacketed flat point. Is this a decent round out to about 100 yards? Would the round have enough energy at that range to expand correctly? I have about 100 rounds of this ammo and 44 mag has been scarce here in NW Arkansas. Should I try to hunt down some of that Honady lever gun ammo? Hollow points?

As info

I have hunted with a Ruger Super Blackhawk in 44 mag for the last couple of
years. I have had excellent success out to 90 yards with Hornady 240Gr XTP JHP. I have 8 rounds of this left and want to save it for my pistol because I know where it hits and how it performs out of the 7.5 inch barrel.

I have had excellent results with that load in the past. Shoot them in the right place and go get them.
