454 or 451 ammo

Are all dragoons and walkers made to shoot the 454 or 457 round ball ? seems like a lot bigger sitting in cylinder.

Dave, most Walkers and Dragoons .44 cal take the .457" ball because of chamber size. uberti Rev chambers are sized to take .454 or can squeeze .457 in them.
Euroarms take a .457 ball, Pietta take a .451 store bought or Lee molded
.452" ball or some may take the .454" ball.
.36 cal are the same Pietta .375" ball or Uberti a .380".
Is best to measure your chambers before buying. Or get the .454" if guessin'.

this ia a 3rd model dragoon by asm.still unfired everything seems to be in great shape.I would have thought the 451 ball would have just slid in chamber but no it will have to be ramed in.

Ramming the ball in is a Good Thing.

^ Agreed. When in doubt, go with a ball that's a hair too large. The ring of lead cleans off pretty easily.
