Gang,
Here are pictures of my .50 caliber. Since joining, I never showed her off!
I inherited it from my father who passed away last year. He got it from his cousin (who passed away) and my dad gave it to me. It's a Custom California Half Stock, 50 caliber. I got an assortment of BP goodies with it including black powder. I had it about a year then a buddy at work showed me the roaps and it's been addicting since. The gun is heavy, has an 1 1/8" barrel, nice wood and brass furniture. It was made by Andrew Fautheree and Harold Moss here on the west coast.
Made in 1976 by A. Fautheree, then work done in 1983 by Harold Moss. It may have had a new stock, not sure what was done with it.....
Fixed tang, just makes it a pain to clean barrel, but I've since inletted the stock with screw inserts so I don't wear out the wood.
Hand poured pewter nose cap.
The gun is heavy and I've since added a brass ram rod and keep her in a padded gun case for now.
I've since been to a couple of rendezvous' and had a great time, some great people go to these and shot, laughed and ate dutch oven food to boot!
I've since spent hundreds of dollars for accessories to feed my addiction! Especially black powder as it's hard to come by in my area.....
I got the rendezvous name of "Patches" as when I asked my buddy what I needed, he said patches, I bought 2yds of pillow ticking, washed and dried twice and cut it up. It gave me quite a bit of patches and so....he knick named me patches!
Here she is bout ready to blast a gong....Except sometimes the shooter doesn't do as well.....
I did have a good shot on a straw board, blew it in half and my shot was a little high.....
