TAC works well for me in .223.
Meters well thru my measures.
Good stuff IMO.

With all the glowing comments about TAC, I kinda wish I had asked sooner! I'm going to have to go see if the store has some.We are not on lockdown yet and knowing myself like I do, I'm not sure yet how I will deal with that.

I'm actually exploring the notion of TAC over on the M14 forum. I use H335 in 5.56mm, and was wondering about using it in 7.62mm, and about TAC in general, for both as well. One of the posters mentioned that TAC can be temperature sensitive... so much so that competition shooters have a 'winter' load, and a 'summer' load. I see you are in southern CA, so it might be a moot point, but have you experienced any big swings with TAC?

Since this an exercise in getting started again for me, I have a folder that I am filling with data before I even pull the lever. I much appreciate the info.

Just FYI, both Hodgdon and Hornady have 'Service Rifle' specific data in their load books. Hodgdon's is available online and includes BL-C2.

Having less powders around is certainly not a bad idea.

I bought a bunch of crazy powders during the Dark Ages, just to have something to load with... then I was staring at all these cans like 'now what am I going to do with these?' once regular stock came back in. My rule now is fewer powders, but more of the ones I have... so I can avoid that nonsense in the future, unfortunately, like what is going on currently.

I had poor results at the M-14, which is why I'm here. I like the general mood here a lot better.

Haven't noticed any big swings with TAC but I worked up the load in about 90 degree weather and really have only tested it between say about 80-105.

On another note BLC-2 worked well for me in .223 also. so it can do both as well, maybe not as much vel as some others but not terrible.

When things get back to normal and my range is ope I will try to do an ice chest test.
(toss ammo in plastic bag in the ice chest for about an hour to get it nice and cold).
Hot is not a problem here in the summer, other than if you leave it in the sun it is to hot to touch!

(wet tumbled brass dries fast here in the summer outside in the sun!:))
